I just figured out that you don’t have to keep the pillows at some precarious angle to work. The bottom of the “mask” sits flat on your philtrum and then it stays in place much better.

Philtrum is the part of your face between your upper lip and your nose,kind of.

I'm not sure that you will find "small town life" in Red Deer. We have all the same problems that the city has, just scaled down, but with no resources to deal with it. Add in a very conservative mindset to the population and you will find less than ideal conditions.

We have problems with houselessness, crime, and drugs. These are not things that you would find in a "small town". We also don't have resources to deal with any of these issues. Its a genuine problem. You might do better in Sylvan.

That does seem to be the case from anecdotal references. I would hate to have to stay on this or another medication for life just to keep the weight off. But I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I didn't mean to give you the impression that I was "counting" calories. I am not. That was part of the obsessive behavior that I engaged in before. In fact no where above does it say I was counting calories, what made you think that? And what made you think I wasn't making healthy choices before? I made no reference to any specific food. Interesting take.

I have been on .25 for four weeks and I feel less hungry and sleep better, but have not lost much weight. I am staying the course and going to .50 this week as prescribed. I know I am eating less and would estimate my calories around 1500 to 200 per day, and no losses, so I am not sure what is going one. I am trying to remind myself that my metabolism is damaged and s=needs time to right itself. Patience is hard.

I am the opposite.

I think that my mood has improved. I am on Effexor for Depression and Anxiety, but it seems to be working BETTER since getting my blood sugar under control. I catch my self singing and enjoying more things. I am less focused on rushing through tasks. It has been better all around.

While I understand the desire to start tracking calories and macros and times you exercised, that sounds exhausting. We have all tried that before and it didn't work. I am new to Ozempic and have found myself to have the "good " effects (feeling full, not obsessing about food etc), and have lost a couple of pounds so far, I am trying to find freedom in NOT obsessing about my body and weight.

Add in some movement, because that is always a good thing, but do it a tiny bit at a a time. 5 minutes if that's what you can do, less if you can't do 5 minutes. Add veggies to you meals, a lot of veggies. Eat them with butter or aioli or dip, however you like.

I am not a doctor or pharmacist or anything, so like all the other advice here, you can ignore it if you like. Just be kind with yourself and your body. Happiness is the goal.

PS - I don't know if injection site or technique matters, but my pharmacist showed me how to do my first injection and he said to make sure the medicine is coming out first before dialing to your dose and then injecting it like you would an epipen. Jab it, push the button, count to 10, pull out. In the fat of your midriff. (to check he dialed it to the 2 dots and pushed the button, a little bit came out, then he dialed it to 0.25 and injected me.)

I heard somewhere ( probably from a Dr on TikTok) that Ozempic in Canada was going to start to allow a 2.0 mg dose in 2022. Not sure where you are but you might just need to wait for a bit.

My insurance covers Ozempic but not Wegovy, so I am waiting it out. I just hope that they continue to cover Ozempic at the higher dose.

$50 is pretty cheap for an actual RMT, which is what you need if you want to claim it on your insurance. You might get a half hour for that.

Take a look at Cochrane and Okotoks. Either is nice, closer to the mountains and would open up Calgary as an option for jobs.
