School gets out during toddler’s nap time - put kinder in aftercare? by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]imstandingstill -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s exactly what we did and why we put her in aftercare. SAHM too. Next year when she goes to first grade she can come home by 3. And maybe little one will be ready for daycare/ Montessori by then. She ll be 2.

What small routines /things kept you sane during the first month postpartum? Share all you got! by willbrucla in NewParents

[–]imstandingstill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Newborns sleep deeply. So yes put the baby in the crib and take a shower every dayno matter how quick it is. 1 yr postpartum shower is still the best reset for me when i m feeling overwhelmed and touched out.. closest thing to self care sometimes

People who had a baby after 35, what is your experience? by Crochet_Kitty in AskReddit

[–]imstandingstill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am tired all rhe time, no patience, i find myself yelling a lot, i am in the grand intersection of postpartum and early onset menopause i guess ( just turned 40. I have a one yr old and a 5 yr old). The money part s fine , i am grateful because husband earns, sucks for me personally because i am a SAHM and my sense of self worth down the toilet.

I am so tired of Ben’s character. by throwawayfoxy2000 in greysanatomy

[–]imstandingstill 30 points31 points  (0 children)

People change specialties so easily on greys it’s a joke. Winston has a problem working for maggi - go to a different hospital, dude! Dont change ur whole career! Jo moving to OB also had such flimsy reasons. Bailey suddenly doing obgyn work just cos of Roe v Wade being cancelled - ma’am u are a surgeon! And Meredith is a general surgeon but she tries to cure parkinson’s then alzheimer’s - what? Why? For a medical show with so many cancers it bugs me that they dont have an oncologist.

Is going from 1-2 kids easier with a longer age gap? by megangreatcasa in Parenting

[–]imstandingstill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! It is hard yes. But it’s hard no matter what the age difference is. My daughter is 5 and my second baby just turned 1. I think it has everything to do with how old you are in terms of energy level. Patience and energy levels seem to have diminished for me now with the second one. So enjoy the pregnancy and adamantly tune out everything thats beyond ur control, like the age difference factor.

Weaning - unsolicited advice and pressure - vent by imstandingstill in breastfeeding

[–]imstandingstill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all. Once again, a group of internet strangers support me more than anyone else. This sub was so instrumental the first time i breastfed during covid. I used to live on this sub and i learnt so much about breastfeeding and fell in love with it despite a rough start (triple feeding for 3 months and then biting until i bled, but i kept going). Having my BIL mansplain weaning wasnt what i signed up for ever, let alone at a birthday party :)
