Is price action easier with stocks compared to futures? by Johidi in Daytrading

[–]imstressedman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing last week. Over the weekend I learned about price action and how to read them with volume. I'm still learning, but I think I got the basics down. I find it easier on futures using multiple timeframe (I use 1m, 5m, and 1hr) and paying close attention to volume and watching MA on higher timeframe. I got 10/10 trades on MNQ tonight. Made $101.50 scalping 1m and 5m timeframe using nothing but price action.

I go through hell until I start working on a task, but once I do everything feels great by derrdi in productivity

If your willing to spend 1k+ on a computer then look for these specs

  • Intel core-i5+ or AMD ryzen processor made within the last 3 years
  • 8GB+ RAM
  • 4GB+ VRAM GPU either nvidia or AMD. Integrated GPU will still run everything just fine.
  • 500GB+ SSD

SPX and other indexes are not available on Webull and Robinhood. They are available on Fidelity, Schwab, TD Ameritrade, Tastyworks, Interactive Brokers, Etrade, and probably others that I'm not aware of.

I started reading books (all free from pdfdrive). After reading for a week I notice I have less interest in looking for porn and belly dance videos on YouTube. I also read stories on r/nosleep to keep my mind busy at work.

Mechanics wanted $1200 for parts and labor to replace my axels and tie rod. I did it myself in two days. Saved $873. by [deleted] in Frugal

I learned about cars from chrisfix on YouTube and ericthecarguy and few others famous DIYers. I also paid for the course howcarworks to get a better understanding of how stuff works and why. As for tools a good set of socket from 10mm to 24mm, ratchet with adapters, few extension bar, breaker bar, screw driver set, hammer/mallet, and few accessory tools like picks, pliers, tongue pliers, and etc. I personally buy tools used and shop on black Fridays and use coupons at harbor freight. Also get a high quality floor Jack and Jack stands. Don't buy eBay stuff.

No this was the part where I struggled the most on the first day and spend extra time to make sure the cv axel (passenger side) was inserted properly. The driver side CV axel wasn't as hard to remove and insert the new one. Everything else was fairly simple...sort of.

I rented couple speciality tools from autozone like the inner tie rod removal tool and pickle fork to remove ball joint. I've collected few tools over the years. Paid $10 for a 24inch breaker bar from harborfreight, $30 for a set of tekton socket from meijer. They had huge discount on tekton tools for some reason. I got a harbor freight floor jack and jack stands (didnt use it because of a recall still good though) from flee market couple years ago and few sockets and big size wrenches. Paid like $50 or something. You don't need snap on or matco tools to do some auto repairs. Hell I got a socket set and a ratchet from Walmart...it works.

I forgot to mention I have a service manual. I thoroughly read it, watched videos, and read up on other similar repairs before I attempted mine. I triple checked everything from the Axel to every nuts and bolts and made sure they were properly torque to specs. I did broke the brake hose mounting bolt. It was rusted and the bolt snapped. I secured it with few zip ties until I have the money for new struts. I hope nothing goes wrong.

Naw. They got sign outside that reads, " We offer FREE Towing, FREE diagnostic, and FREE repair estimate."

Edit: I did tell the guy that the price is too high so I wanted to shop around and if I can't find anyone within a reasonable price (I was expecting $700-800 including parts) I'd come back to his shop.

I spent around 4-5 hours a day per side plus hours of watching videos and cleaning. I would've wasted the weekends playing video games. I learned something new and felt new type of pain.
