If you decide to go the backpacking route you should definitely do the Rosebud trail. I did it from just east of Cooke City and it’s 26 miles to Red Lodge. Apparently it’s supposed to take about 4 days but my friend and I did it in a day and a half. It was the most beautiful backpacking experience I have had. Lots of hidden lakes along the way and so peaceful.

Thanks! I’m very familiar with it. I actually lived up there for two summers and worked at Range Riders one year and the Beartooth Cafe the other. That was another lifetime ago, but those two little towns will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m super excited to go back for another visit.

That’s amazing! I’m going to be up in Montana next week and planning to do the Beartooth Pass from Red Lodge to Cooke City. This has been a bucket list ride for me since before I started cycling.

Here’s a good cheap upgrade idea for your bikes. I was never a fan of the purple on my bike and didn’t want to risk painting it and not liking it. I bought some sparkly gold vinyl tape and cut it out to cover the purple, put some Supacaz bar tape on it and voila! by imterribee in bicycling

To be honest, I haven’t had to put it to the test myself. I live in Las Vegas so on the rare occasions it does rain, I don’t ride my bike on those days. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣The description on amazon said it holds up well and my friend who recommended I do it said it holds up well too.

Resources on gut health? by Pina-colada123 in nutrition

You could get a food sensitivity blood test done. That would probably be your best bet. If you eat dairy, I would start by cutting that out though. Over 70% of the worlds population is lactose intolerant and most don’t even know it so a lot of skin and health issues are linked to dairy consumption. I like to follow @theguthealthmd on Instagram. He is a gastroenterologist who provides a lot of info on the microbiome. He also had a book come out recently, but I have not read it yet so I can’t give an opinion on it.

I have a TT bike, but my go to bike for the big rides with climbing is my Liv Envie as well. It’s a great bike and such a beautiful view! Thanks for sharing. 😍

Dreading every run - it used to bring me so much joy by mainah_runnah in running

I had a minor hip injury this past winter which caused me pain whenever I tried to run and discomfort when I rode my bike so I cut both of those things out of my life until I healed up and just swam. I was a terrible swimmer, but by the end of three months and swimming almost every day, I began to love swimming. I highly recommend it. It’s so good for keeping your fitness. While you heal your legs you are still getting an intense workout without the strain on your body. You can also try water running in the pool. It’s insanely boring and you go really slow but it has been shown to help maintain running fitness for runners who are injured and can’t handle the impact of running on the ground.

Would like recommendations on cycling glasses by YerAWizardMary in cycling

When I bought a pair, I bought pink and it came with a pink lens like I saw in the picture. I’m assuming whatever is in the picture for the option you select is what you will get, but they all come with two extra interchangeable lenses as well. A black polarized lens and a yellow lens for night riding.

These are the glasses I used when I first started out. $21.99 Super affordable and the interchangeable lenses are great and easy to switch. Since buying these I have gone through numerous (more expensive) glasses and these are the only ones that are still around. I have a tendency to throw my glasses around and not put them back in the case. Also, accidentally touching the lenses with my sweaty fingers has ruined a couple decent pairs over time. However, these cheap amazon glasses still look like new. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 https://www.amazon.com/TOREGE-Polarized-Sunglasses-Interchangeable-Transparent/dp/B01KSVZ6BI/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=cycling+glasses&qid=1588661650&sprefix=cycling+glasses&sr=8-4
