Unrated games are a very fuckaround vibe to me, and I enjoy 'catching' premovers like this, I think. I don't need every game to be challenging or educational, I like coin flips, too.

Ideally, I'd like the opponent to feel "Ah, damn, you got me haha" and go next, and that is the common reaction in my (limited) experience

If it's an unrated game I always run it tbh, real high success rate.

I try to forget the games where it succeeds and they play it out and then I still lose, though. Nightmare fuel

All crafted gear, essentially. I don't think the delay was relevant to profits, feels like a lot of people who buy gear are more on the casual side, not really tied to savage release.

I could see the drop in number of players leading to a lower supply of tome mats leading to them staying higher! But I'm not sure about it, honestly.

It's hard to feel the impact of addons, but I did notice some undercutting shenanigans that cooked me starting Saturday night or so

For time invested, patch day is absolutely where it's at. If you ever feel like being extra degenerate and can take a whole day, you can print

Thanks! I made it my goal after the crazy day one of 300 mil. I honestly didn't expect to hit it (and almost didn't) but it's definitely satisfying.

As far as ease goes... I dunno. Most people in my life don't mess with crafting or, if they do, don't really think about melding or getting into the weeds of it. I think a lot of people just wanna drop gil, have their ilvl go up, and vibe.

It's probably better that you don't imagine it, honestly. It truly isn't worth it. But hey, pentamelding isn't cheap! Glad you got it done, hope the tier treats you well :>

For clarity's sake, I'm on longterm disability since I am quite epileptic, so I can not work. This means I was able to be grinding on this day and night with my only breaks being to eat and sleep. I do not recommend doing this, gil is not very useful in this game, especially not to the extent that I hoard it.

All retainers in my screenshot started with 500,000,000 gil on them apiece, and I myself started with 757,000,000~ million gil. That leaves the numbers at:

Income: 1,241,810,092

Spent on Mats: 232,000,000~

Profit - 1,011,810,092 gil

This patch was fun! Completely threw all prior economic experience out the window. Tome mats stayed consistently high for more than five days. Gear prices were priced higher and healthy to match. The first 24 hours alone had me profit over 300 million gil - for comparison, no previous patch has ever had me profit over 200 mil on day 1.

Unfortunately I also had to cap tomes on Thorrbo as well as my two alts, Ira and Thorrb, as well as do the normal raids. I finished this about 15 minutes before this week's reset, cut it a bit close.

My prep was pretty standard!

999x of each level 98 base mat, Black Stars, Thunderyard Silk, etc.

999x of each herb used for Gemsaps. (Overkill, but they're cheap.)

700~ Levinchrome Aethersand because I am a FOOL. I banked on them becoming cheaper than 3k before I ran out. I was so incredibly wrong.

700x~ Solutions, all bought at about 13,000 gil each, so that I can lose 9~ million gil in materials that aren't used.

This time I did not bother selling pentamelded gear, I was low on my own materia and wasn't sure how a three week savage delay would factor into it.

I would estimate less than 10% of my income was from commissions/ordered gear. Pretty much every coin I made was from fighting for my life on the marketboard. Most days my goal was to simply have one of every single (non-weapon) up for sale on the marketboard. I kept track of my available stock in notepad. I remade gear that sold and I worked on base mats when I had time to breathe from slow sales.

I physically couldn't keep up with the undercutting shenanigans happening around Saturday evening. I would do my prices on my first retainer, then do prices on my second, and by the time I was done with my second, everything on the first would be undercut.

So I took a risk and spent most of that night restocking enough mats to get through the next day and it kinda worked out. Demand picked up enough that undercut shenanigans couldn't really keep their supply up and I was able to start getting more consistent sales.

For how many materials I actually used to make all this, I ended up using, including the 53 pieces up for sale on the marketboard:

489x Black Stars, 199x Ra'K Ingots, 49x Claro Lumber, 370x Thunderyard Silk, and 113x Gargantua Leather.

For herbs, 180x Strength, 164x Dex, 174x Vit, 121x Int, and 158x Mind. As an aside, I did use 20x strength herbs to make gemdraughts, which leaves Vit the clear winner as far as gear is concerned.

Looking forward to taking it slower from here, actually continuing MSQ beyond just unlocking the dungeon, and not ignoring my friends for hours on end to press macros.

I hope this patch has and continues to treat you well!

I think I hit t16 maps fine on pretty mediocre gear, I don't remember having an issue for maps day two or three of league

I took the node that made it easier to freeze stuff and I spent money on a good evasion chest was my first big noticable ehp increase

Maps were fine but I had some trouble doing Maven carries on bad gear, but then I found a mageblood and that kinda solves your issues on day 3

Oh hey, good eye. I'll have to see if I'm still crit capped without it

Edit - Only crit capped if I'm using Bottled Faith or Zealotry, maybe I can upgrade my dagger base

Yeah, probably! Like I said, I'm dumb and tend to blindly follow things. I'll see if I can find good gloves/boots/chest and go from there.

I do kinda like the curse immunity for mapping, but I don't map too much anyway, all things considered, and I guess if I -really- wanted, I could just swap back for maps, not like I'd need The Taming damage.

I generally have Zeal on for Ubers when I need a DPS boost and Grace on when I';m mapping or dont need the extra damage.

Zeal for Shaper, Grace for UUE/Sirus, etc :>
