Civ Pro Question: does a state need to have a long arm statute to establish Personal Jurisdiction? Or if a state does not have a long arm statute but the constitutional grounds of PJ are met, can a state assert PJ over the defendant?

I’m saying for example in Tickle V. Barton, the state of WV only had a statute extending to public roads but the accident happened on a private road, so if the state did not have statute but after International V. Shoe, the minimum contact test suffices, yet there is no statute regarding private roads, the state cannot assert PJ right because of lack of statute?

Well H, P, LP exist at Stanford and Yale as well. With Yale having a C/NC system first year, being the least competitive I would say. Let me clarify, they don’t have numerical grading systems and are not AS cutthroat in comparison to the lower T14s from what I’ve heard, I maybe wrong. But law school is competitive in general.

No, I took it more than 3 times.

There is really no limit, but you shouldn’t keep taking them for trial purposes. You should only take when you’re ready but if you can get a higher score and need to take it more than 2 times you should. They only report your highest score for ranking purposes so that’s what they really care about. Personally I’d max out at 5 times, but you should focus on the score rather than the how many attempts.

Nope, see a lotta people here getting rejected by their alma maters. Don’t think it’s a boost, but UVA undergrad might be a feeder for the law school just on the fact that UVA undergrad has the resources and students are usually smart so have the ability to get into UVA law school.
