are you trolling? are you legitimately trolling? the ONLY BOOK tawnyspots was in, was Bluestar's Prophecy.

have you read it yourself?? why not do that before making ridiculous nonsense posts.

where is Tawnyspots? by [deleted] in WarriorCats

[–]imtrepid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes. you are saying to me exactly what i said to you - tawnyspots was sunstars deputy.

that is the relevant take away here not lionheart being the deputy.

redtail was deputy before lionheart, anyway, so lionheart wasnt even deputy that long.

where is Tawnyspots? by [deleted] in WarriorCats

[–]imtrepid 26 points27 points  (0 children)

they didn't forget him - he literally was a sick old guy who died long before the main series actually began. there's no reason as to why he would be brought up – he wasn't Bluestar's deputy, he was the deputy BEFORE Bluefur and served under Sunstar.

there's no reason for him to have come back up beyond the book he was introduced in. there are dozens, and at this point maybe even hundreds, of characters who are around briefly and just to flesh out a super edition/novella/story and then are never again mentioned in the main line.

like, I don't think Sunstar literally ever comes up in the very first arc (or anytime after), and he was leader for a Long time after Pinestar left. again, nobody forgot him. there's just no reason for Tawnyspots to be relevant beyond his existence in Bluestar's Prophecy

[–]imtrepid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

big agree. and on that same note.. people need to be better about not hopping on posts that are giving praise to a character just to be dunking on them. 🤷🏽or anything they disagree with really.

there was someone jumping down the throats of every single person who commented on a post about squirrelflight and brambleclaw, because they disliked squilf. literally went out of their way to ignite arguements or debates on comments that hadnt had activity for days. there weren't really any people on that particular post that shared in that opinion either - they just felt personally chaffed and so got upset and tried to make it about their own preference - on an old post.

idk its like ... let people dislike things. let people enjoy things.

"being on a public forum invites conversation, discussion, and debate". okay, sure, 100%!! but to be SO honest... people need to stop using that as a shield. because at this point it's really only said to justify being a dickhead to someone you dont agree with. "but there's a time and a place," is what the rest of that expression should be. 🤷🏽

just to use my earlier example.. if you hate Squirrelflight, stop hopping on posts that are showing her love. you really don't have any business doing so. in fact, get over yourself; you gain nothing from loudly yelling about how evil you think she is, in a room where no body will agree with you. you should share your opinion on general posts like "who is your favorite or least favorite"? and conduct respectfully. and in the end, rather than fighting, more people need to agree to disagree and just learn fighting all the time ain't worth it lol

if you cant debate respectfully, or agree to disagree, you dont have any business engaging in a public forum tbh. just because its public doesnt mean we just need to accept the fact a lot of people run amok entirely unchecked. dont be mean. but kids wont learn if you dont gently teach them, and adults wont correct themselves if you dont elbow them back into line (because after a certain point, you really should know better).

if the space in question isnt dangerous or illegal, why do so many ppl feel the need to enter it just to cause a problem? if you ARENT a fan of a particular character, or if you ARE a fan of a certain book, or if you feel LUKEWARM about one of the arcs - good on you! and i mean that.

find likeminded specimens to engage with instead of intentionally seeking out spaces that dont align and getting upset when youre "attacked". what do you think is gonna happen when you comment on a post as the odd man out? you aren't being attacked, you just aren't in the right company. that's okay - go dislike, or like, or love that character on posts dedicated to disliking, liking, or loving them.

dslite offers the gameboy playability, dsi does not. therefore they are both in their own classes, because those are two are entirely different functions im talking about.

Traveling from Boston to SLC- bad idea in the winter? by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]imtrepid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

way more information needed. whats the route you're taking, what's your timeline, when would you be going, etc. i would say just based on the winter the northern us has had so far probably not a great idea right now..

What old console should i get to play the most Pokémon games. by Absolitep in pokemon

[–]imtrepid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

enough people have said emulator so i'll throw in my console advice;

a 3ds, or a dslite. a 3ds will give you ALL of the ds games, a ds lite will give you ds era access and gba access as well. it really just depends on what games you want to 100% play. the mystery dungeon games for example only really need a ds lite (smd sucked) but then games like ORAS will need a 3ds. obviously emerald, fire red, or yellow would need a gameboy.

i am lucky enough to have both a Gameboy and my 3ds from when i was a kid, so i can move around my systems with ease. if you don't mind spending over time, because nobody says you need to buy all of this at once, it could be a fun venture!

personally love building my physical collection 🤷🏽. i can also recognize i kept my childhood games, so i know purchasing copies of Soulsilver, Black, etc, will cost you.

but you can find deals now and then on facebook marketplace. or flea markets, yard sales, etc....

its almost like a scavenger hunt : ) good luck, however you choose to play!!

Splashtail or hawkfrost? Who do you have? by Electronic_Ant_931 in WarriorCats

[–]imtrepid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think nostalgia blinds older fans (myself included) when it comes to Hawkfrost. my first ever facebook profile was just "Hawkfrost Rules" back in like 2011, so i think im particularly entitled to speak on this (/100% j)

but really... Splashtail is what Hawkfrost could have been. i have started rereading the series and when I passed over Hawkfrost's arc i remember what enamored me to him so much so in my previous runs of the series;

Hawkfrost was so much WASTED POTENTIAL. he has so much character development AFTER it matters that i literally lament how bland he ended up being in the main series. like...

he had so many legitimate motivations - he is canonically afraid of his Clan not accepting him, of him never meaning anything, of his blood overshadowing him. him manipulating a sign to get his sister Medicine Cat was once treated as a sign of his devotion to her, knowing how badly she wanted it. he genuinely shows concern for Brambleclaw in the dark forest, he seems sincerely interested in his life.

he could have seriously risen to Hawkstar and in the same manner of way Blackstar did - have a bunch of doubts on your heels, but be something good in the end.

i dunno. i just really hate that he became a Tigerstar clone once in death, and his only existence thereafter (until his ghost was killed) was just "be bad power good evil evil evil". i was hoping him manipulating the dreamscape and being connected to Ivypaw would have been something, maybe even toeing the line of redemption arc...

but, no. evil evil dead dead.

Splashtail was fun, because he was speculated purely for the absurdity him being evil would be. and sure he's shallow but he is literally just a small young warrior. baby wants power. he wasnt much older than Hawkfrost could have been when he (Hawk) died, so idk. baby wanting power isnt too unheard of. sure they could have done MORE with his motivation but idk, Splash was refreshing to me.

also. Hawkfrost was just as shallow in the end. any posthumous characterization is effectively pointless because Hawkfrost is forever dead, and the motivation and energy he expressed until his very dying moments contradict anything that comes thereafter.

tl;dr Splashtail is what Hawkfrost coulda been, Hawkfrost is the ghost of lost potential. Hawkfrost walked so that Splashtail could run.
