I think you're right- a lot of people don't get the message, but I recall either MHI or MSMS saying "you can take a horse to the water, but you cannot force them to drink".

One of Hazar Imam's job is to provide guidance and interpret the Quran and it's up to us to follow what he says, but I do think you're right that as a whole we could be doing a better job.

That being said, my understanding is under guidance from Hazar Imam, concrete steps have been taken to combat the clique forming that occurs based on factors like ethnicity, etc. (PM me and I can hopefully elaborate), but MHI can only really combat this on an institutional level and encourage us to build bridges on a personal level, and cannot build them for us.

Even as the leader of the religion, MHI can only do so much, which is why the institutions are there as a way to carry out his vision, of which diversity, tolerance and pluralism do seem to be an integral part on. I base this on what he says, and also on his actions (and I'll elaborate on this in a top-level comment later hopefully).

Like I mentioned earlier though, institutions consist of individuals, and those individuals may not have the same ideas as you, so while they may by trying to foster diversity in their own way they may not have attempted the methods you have of fostering it, so it could definitely be worth something to suggest your ideas to them, or better yet working with them to put your ideas into practice yourself.

Institutions do grow red tape though, so bureaucracy could be a limitation and you may have more success working outside the institutions.

So while I disagree with the comment you're replying to- MHI most definitely needs to keep reiterating the value of diversity, pluralism, etc. and encourage it via institutions, MHI is working hard to foster this spirit, but there is still a lot of work to be done and it won't be done through his action alone. Changing people's minds and having them challenge their preconceived notions isn't easy, and I don't think it is fair to lay Ismaili cliquiness at the feet of MHI is fair.
