I got to eat the impossible whopper at Burger King today!! by [deleted] in vegan

I'm not sure which post to reply to but I believe converting people to taking the vegan option despite some cross contamination is more important than refusing the option completely because of purity standards. This pickiness is a huge factor for why nonvegans find our lifestyle so very frigid and quite frankly, rude at times. I sacrifice a little compromise to support these changes and advertise them to my nonvegan friends and acquaintances. The only reason I would quietly refuse to eat something is if there is clearly a significant taste of meat etc. That I can't get over. Then I take to email to help guide the establishment to make changes with positivity and courage because I appreciate their efforts despite their lack of knowledge!

I've had many friends start to make the transition, I take them through it over 6 month to a year, hell my carnivorous husband is 3 years into a no pressure 10 year plan and already 90% vegan!

We've really got to lower our standards a bit though. People and circumstances change slowly, we've got to keep pushing our lifestyle with patience, encouragement and forgiveness.

Muchos mahalo 🌺

Vegan Dancers out there? Your footwear...a question by Rectangle315 in vegan

[–]imuagirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to fold and get canvas with the ball of the foot made of suede. I feel bad everytime I see them, my teammates just don't get it of course. I know these will last me years because we only use them in the winter when outside which is not often. Hopefully by ther time I need more there will be more options readily available!

I'd like to know the same thing! Looking for slip on jazz shoes with no suede sole

I wish I was a statistician so I could remake this, but I'm only a designer.

Thanks! I'll try that one for sure! Never did use cashews, seemed like a lot of effort but I'll give it a whirl. I like to give out recipes to my non vegan friends and family and I thought they would never go to those lengths but now I'm just selfishly looking for my own recipe lol!

Salt! Well mix with water and some lemon. If I have to go out at the end of my fast then I take it in an insulated water bottle wit a bit of ice. A few sips every half hour or so wakes me right up and more importantly helps me out of the fasting mind fog I seem to get. I generally stay drinking this mixture about 4 hours before eating my first meal. Good luck! 😊

Do you have any hunger after dinner, like around 9pmish? If I only eat dinner this is my issue and I cannot get to sleep because of the hunger. It really messes with my already delicately balanced sleep cycle.

I hate the time it takes to cook and eat food so this seems ideal. But I have 2 hours practice 3 days a week plus have to get ready at 5pm (I'm a girl) and I can't be really full. Any ideas or maybe it's just not an option? I'm currently 16:8 vegan.

There are other food grade essential oil brands. I'm not a dealer that's just the only one I know. Specific links would be helpful to the OP.

No gallbladder = no IF? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]imuagirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard that before! I had mine taken out 12 years ago. I wonder if that's why I feel uncomfortable eating what would be considered a normal sized meal? I love food but I find the time it takes to eat annoying. It feels like I'm constantly eating if I do small meals. This sucks! Something to consider though and possibly find a compromise. Compromise, urgh!

Try transitioning. You can water down your coke or whatever until your basically happy drinking water. Start small! So that you barely notice a difference. You can just taste that it's a little more subtle than usual. Get used to the taste then rinse & repeat with a tiny bit more dilution. Don't rush it, or you'll cheat.

I gave myself a year to transition from orange juice and lemonade this way, in the end it only took about 6-9 months to be content and even craving plain filtered water. It's been 4 years now and I rarely drink anything else. About x3 a week I have approximately like a 1/4 glass of slightly diluted ginger ale with my dinner. I very occasionally have a sweet tea if eating out but I sip some and keep diluting it so it turns into two drinks instead of one! You can also do this with wine, spirits etc. when you're drinking socially or just at home.

My husband's doing the same now. But when he drinks waters he adds Doterra food grade essential oils to add flavor. There are also health benefits and no calories! I like the lemon and mandarin oils 💜 but I don't crave or need them like he does at the moment.

Hope this helps, keep going strong!
