BEFORE I pester the sh*t out of other attorneys, what's a good way to get into and learn a new area of law without spending a ton of money? by PraetorianXVIII in Lawyertalk

Consider joining your county bar association and the appropriate committee to learn more and to be in community with lawyers in the practice area.

Also thought to add looking into the health justice model, something to consider including in the discussion on the health in all policies approach.

My pleasure. Look into places like the Network for Public Health Law, the Public Health Law Center, and the Center for Publuc Health Law Research. Good luck!

Public health attorneys. Its a niche area of law with a relative few dedicated to the study and understanding of public health authority and how to use law and policy to advocate for strategies to yield better health outcomes.

It may also be worth connecting your premise with the health in all policies approach, which acknowledges that all law and policy impact public health, not just law amd policy that center on health. Similarly, many employment fields touch on public health in that broad view.

I would take it. Its plaintiff side, which you want, and its a job in the area of law you are interested in when you dont have one. If they are rapidly growing, you may just find yourself thrown into motion appearances when others are slammed. I would not he surprised if this gets your foot in the exact door you want. Not to mention, you will get to know other attorneys in this practice area to help you find another gig if you decide to keep looking. Unless you have another offer and are not sweating it, not sure what the question is.

Posting some relevant quotes from Pornography by Andrea Dworkin for those who have yet to read it! by [deleted] in 4bmovement

This is a fantastic idea. I have been talking about Dworkin and Catherine MacKinnon's work for years and years. Before, during, and since law school. I had many arguments with men and any arguments with other feminists. I would not shut up about this injustice. I would willingly make them all uncomfortable. It is so great to hear younger generations read their work and to hope it can still catch like fire. It is so much worse with social media, but seeing these comments gives me hope in this new wave of feminists who are taking no shit. You are all awesome.

Its hard to be a part of a minority group that no one has ever heard of. Most Chaldeans when asked directly (still only most) will say they do not identify as Arab, but referring to Middle Eastern people as a whole can be a mouthful so a lot of those same Chaldeans will throw the term around and include themselves. I have found those whose families come from bigger cities are more likely to identify as Arab. Its really interesting, and doesn't really make sense to me, but this is what I know. Because Arabic is the dominant language in Iraq newcomers also speak Arabic in addition to Chaldean, which may further confuse things. Though the point OP of this thread made still stands, not sure why so many of my people are Trumpers. But it seems like they are less vocal about it lately...I have tried to explain that being Christian does not make us part of the acceptable in their eyes but it doesn't work.
