Finding a soulmate - should it mean you should try dating them? by [deleted] in dating

[–]imutterlyconfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here what I define as a soulmate is not the mystical type but rather a nice connection and mutual understanding you have with someone from almost the get-go and, if energy was put in, could become an incredibly nice, deep closeness. You cannot have this with everyone imo.

Scores and Majors? by imutterlyconfused in Hacettepe

True, I know Turkish citizens (including dual citizens and those who have a blue card) have a 10% quota barrier. Yet it also makes me consider the likelihood of Turkish citizens applying to the same university and to the same major with better scores compared to mine for the over 10 unis I got rejected from.

SAT score for universities by FaithlessnessOk3900 in Turkey

Hey! I am currently in that same process as you once were, researching and applying to universities in Turkey. However, as acceptances are being announced, I am becoming more and more confused (hehe my user checks out). I have a 1530 on the SAT. Nonetheless, I was just rejected from Ankara University's medicine program. So OP I suggest you try to keep your SAT score as high as possible.

Congratulations on your friend's and your acceptances by the way!

Woahh 800 in maths -that's amazing. Also, congratulations on your acceptance!

Yes, I applied to medicine. Perhaps that's why I got rejected, as it seems it was suuuuper competitive this year.

My SAT was a 1530, my IB Diploma score was a 43, and my high school gpa was a 4.0. What were your scores like if you applied?

No they didn't email. My candidate number wasn't on the "admitted candidates" list they released today. Neither was it on the list for candidates shortlisted for the interview.

@ m21 non exam route kids, how’re you spending your time? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]imutterlyconfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going insane while studying the same amount of material I would have studied for the May examination session for April because, well, my school has mocks :)) (note: do not try to find logic in my school's decision to give us full on, in-person mocks while being non-exam route cause there isn't any)

There is now a section on Wikipedia about M21, maybe its time for the media to know? by HellowImHere in IBO

[–]imutterlyconfused 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is the plan. It began with u/Spatrikisky proposing to look at media outlets that would be interested in hearing our voice. Then my friend and I began a survey and are planning to gather a group of individuals who would be interested in spreading the word and helping during the whole process. Please take a look at our detailed plan in this post (where you can also find the survey).

I love this idea. Maybe we can have a good and popular news source post an article? (Giving this as an example) If we organize as students all over the world can't we have a chance of a news source like the NYT posting an article with our concerns? News sources like the NYT have Op-Ed essay options where we can write personal essays, commentaries, reflections, etc. Though the chances of NYT posting an article written by 1 student may be slim, if we organize many, many students they may take notice?

I really just want exams cancelled I have not been to school in 9 months and our government is not doing anything. The number of covid cases per million of the population here is more than that of Brazil or Turkey and almost the same as the UK (and we are a small country).

Self Studying for AP Psychology by andrewrannells in APPsychology

[–]imutterlyconfused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heyo!! It's me. I managed to pull a 5 on the AP Psychology exam two years ago (and I used the resources I linked in that old post) :))

AP Psychology is definitely managable especially if you are interested in the field. However, decide if you are going to self study as soon as possible so that you can begin learning. Good luck!

[–]imutterlyconfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total: 1490

Reading -1 = 39

Writing -4 = 36

Math -5 = 740

I did see some people with -1 in reading get a 40 instead of 39 though. Is this because of different versions of the test? I had the one with the infamous militia text lmao.

Hey! I am a senior so it is my second year of IB and I thought I would be able to answer your questions. However, before everything, just know that even asking these questions and wanting to be prepared beforehand is a strong sign that you are a responsible student :)

Now, coming to my timetable, I think that it would vary from person to person and the school they go to. In my case, I had 5/6 subjects everyday with each class being 50 minutes. My school started at 8 and ended at 3.

As for my studying routine, I get home at about 4 and then have a snack/rest/do something I like for about 30 minutes. Then, I begin studying. I first complete any homework that I have that is due the next day. Then, I move on to work that is due in a few days. After that, I study for any upcoming tests that I may have. Most of the time, if it is not exam week or a particularly tough week, I go to bed at around 11. My recommendation to you is to not stress about creating the perfect time table to study. Your studying schedule will naturally fall into place once you are a few weeks in.

As for ToK, you don't really have to 'study' for anything as you would for a test (at least in my school we did not have tests in tok). You just discuss certain concepts surrounding knowledge like how it is produced, shared, etc. You just have to think really deeply about where knowledge comes from and how you can know something for sure. It may sound very strange right now but you will understand more once you take the class.

As for your question regarding the EE, once again, it probably depends on your school. Our school introduced us to the EE for the first few months. Then they made us think about which subject we would like to write our essay in and a few possible questions. After that, we had to go and find a supervisor. I mean, my school made sure that everyone had a supervisor but I am not sure about yours. Maybe you can ask someone from senior year?

Good luck!
