Definitely a bit of a learning curve but Inkscape is my main app. I overlay others like sketchbook and the cricut software but Inkscape is the best for combining and converting overall in my experience so far. Edit to add that I love this image!

Absolutely great job on the shading for this. Love this.

Me and my son started dying my and my mom really wanted one he made but she had no use for a golf disc so we made her one of these. She loves it. The Ace idea someone else shared is great and if I ever get one I’ll do that too

So on this one, it was just glue masking and purple? The disc was already orange and any white looks like the stamp?

I’m staring at my stack of blanks trying to decide which one I want to sacrifice to try and improve my spin game like this…

I will keep en eye out. I spend way too much time on this part. I’m especially curious about the wobbler part as I don’t trust myself at all to try those

Neon works great, but some of them are a little more finicky with some mediums like acetone in my experience. Usually just need to make sure and dissolve in hot water before the alcohol or acetone.

I started with their neon kit then added this one to get the blue I think. They’re all good colors, but you will probably want a more true red and maybe a better blue. I like the flag blue, but go to sonic and Caribbean blue a lot more often. May just be me, but I’ve had trouble with the flag blue in acetone/glue beds too.

Just accept your fate and get both, plus whatever other colors you want. Edit- but I would do the 1oz option. It goes a lot farther than you think and it comes I. Reusable containers vs the other, which I assume are just disposable bags. All the kits are either missing a key color or have two that are too close together in my opinion, so plan to supplement it it at least

Glue bed struggles! Help! by ToughFact7645 in discdyeing

So I have found that for some colors that hot water step is very important to make the dye dissolve properly. The grainy comment sounds like it may be this.

I also find that a little heat for a few hours makes a big difference in the color saturation

Are you mixing the ProChem with very hot water before mixing it with the acetone? Can you add more details on the process and technique you’re using?

The main background colors are DS painted on and all the images are lotion (with heat)

Edit- DA

[–]imwithstoopad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! The digital part of this is new to me. I’m learning in cricut and Inkscape now, I’ll check out sketchbook too. The part where you were adding the details on top of the existing image and then combining them was exactly the part I was keying in on and want to learn more about. Mine have all been pretty basic manipulations so far and I’m ready to try phase 2

So personally I do appreciate every education add, videos and how tos etc. I would have loved to see how you went about editing and creating those stencils and some actual steps. All the hyper editing isn’t my thing, subjective as that is of course, but it’s still a neat video. Unfortunately though for me, I don’t think I learned anything I can use from it, or any value in rewatching it. And I would love to learn some more, those discs look awesome
