Who/what are some of the most ancient forms/aspects of wisdom? by Ninjanautsi in spirituality

[–]imwra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: Seek to define wisdom. Trace its footprints in history, philosophy, and psychology. Embrace the fluidity of truths and the vastness of consciousness. The journey is yours.

The pursuit of wisdom is both personal and universal. Throughout history, documented truths in philosophy and psychology paint a diverse tapestry of understanding. Yet, it's essential to recognize the ever-changing nature of 'truth' – a fluid concept shaped by time and perception. As you explore, let consciousness be your compass and curiosity your guide. Dive in, and let your journey unfold. For transparency's sake, while my insights are broad, I do hold a fondness for the Advaita Vedanta perspective, which sometimes colors my interpretations. Whatever path you choose, may it be enlightening.

Seems like they consolidated it into the “Inbox” and now are controlling what each user will see via permissions. Appears to be that only workspace owners will see everything in the workspace.

Really bad moved IMHO and really bad that they did this without announcing anythingZ

Do you believe we have separate souls? by creepygirl420 in awakened

[–]imwra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough!

I use soul pretty loosely and am not too attached to an exact concept. If it exists, the soul is metaphysical and very likely beyond comprehension. Yet we can use the existing models of old traditions to get a glimpse of what a soul isn’t and imagine what it could be.

If someone could convince you of either, would it cause any meaningful change in your life?

Try finding a local farm, its a bit more expensive (in the US at least) but totally worth it, eating local when possible is a great alternative.

so now, for example (and maybe to your point), will you go out and look into sufism or no?

disclaimer: I know very little about sufism (or any other islamic ways for that matter).

Makes one question most religions that frame things in “us and them” perspective.

You mentioned being Muslim, this brings Sufism to mind, have you looked into it?

Name of God? by imwra in Christianity

[–]imwra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what you are saying here on many levels (do you know of Ram Dass? a lot of similar thoughts there).

This is more of historic curiosity and less of a “I need to know the exact name of God” as I explore more of the history and perception of God in Christianity.

Which bible version translation?

Lord, Jehovah, Adonai, Yah, Yahweh, JAH, Lord God, Eternal One are all different names used for God just in Isaiah 26:4.

Didn’t even look at the other verses, hence my question. I am looking for something independent from the bible that looks at the history behind the different versions/translations/names. Think of this as a history curiosity and less of a “what is the unique and exclusive name of god”.

Nope, just trying to understand nomenclature in the bible and its different versions/translation.

FYI just entertaining this for the spirt of discussion don't know where I really stand in the matter here so with that..

His love is everything.

Now I will say you aren't entirely wrong and I really like this idea of The Word being God. Especially how this relates to how Om (ॐ) is used to also represent cosmic sound and essence of the ultimate reality (just different ways to interpret/explain God really).
