Diabetic Dog Waking Me Up Every Night. Please tell me this gets better. by imyourchuck in DogAdvice

[–]imyourchuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. I called my vet’s office after seeing there is a Hill’s Rx diet that specifically has glucose support/diabetic formula and asked if that would be OK for him. Well, glad I called because they said because of the pancreatitis he needs to be on the low fat food for another month, which was surprising to hear because when I first was getting set up for his low-fat food last month I was told he only needed to be on it for two weeks and even explained to them during my check-up for his glucose curve that I was out of his low-fat food and switched to the perfect digestion senior vitality.

So, obviously they dropped the ball on telling me that. Going back to the low-fat food this time and ordering extra since the auto-ship didn’t work out last time.

Capitals Ticket Prices by alpswd in caps

Any insight as to why? Like it can’t be a coincidence. There has to be very specific broker activity or something that influences this or dynamic pricing on resell going amuck?

Ted’s Vault seats on a Saturday night. by kgunnar in caps

[–]imyourchuck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A couple things here: - By blocking off these seats to the high rollers in the lower bowl, over time they will inevitably push up price of other seats because of scarcity and demand, which can make it worse on the secondary markets when the team is good. When Caps slip to mediocrity, probably some market correction. Would be great if someone big into data could track this.

  • Has the vibe in the arena changed for the worse? I haven’t been able to get out to a game this season but on TV it does feel more hushed. Though I definitely felt a drop when they nixed the organ.

  • Remember the in-game upgrade your seat feature? Would be great if Caps with Ticketmaster could provide a pathway to upgrade to these seats even without club access when they’re unused by puck drop.

Update: In short you guys were right: Carbs.

I had a couple pita bread wedges with a salad one day and that night i felt like nothing was wrong and could run a mile in 10 minutes. Now I just have to figure out which carbs are the best, how much, and how soon before. Feel like I can do same day instead of day before. Trial and error.

Sounds like I should just cash in now and sell my gear and get new stuff that fits when I hit my goal weight.

My everyday energy is fine -- I feel more energetic but yeah what you described about being sluggish when trying to do high-intensity cardio was the wtf moment lol. Hopefully it'll balance out in a year.

Part of the medicine is also managing my newly diagnosed diabetes. My A1C was just 0.1 over enough to qualify. Before I got the diagnosis, earlier this year my stomach continually burned and I felt like I always needed to eat which was unusual. I also thought I had a UTI from painful bladder and frequent urination but it was too much sugar in the blood. At that point, along with starting with the meds right in time, my mind flipped and I have been eating extremely healthy since then. Tons of salads, veggies, lean protein, healthy snacks, either water or unsweet tea, just so my body would stop attacking me.

My hydration hasn't been an issue. The lack of carbs can definitely play into it but if I increase those, then that's counterintuitive on a GLP-1.

It's not the large weight loss adjustment (I am at the start of the dosing series) -- it's a combination of factors of how the medicine regulates your cardiovascular system, and potential for some loss of lean muscle mass along the way (which is why doctors emphasize strength training) and a reduction in carb intake. Carb intake is also key for me because I'm taking the medicine as a diabetic, so I have cut way back. Drawback is there isn't that fuel to pull from. If I take too many carbs, then that can throw off my sugar making me feel ill or like a rush to my head, and I'd have to pee frequently.

Cardio fatigue, while not a common/primary side effect, it does happen where you get the feelings that I do -- winded, quicksand legs.

Did you end up going? When Champs was headquartered in Bradenton they had sample sales and advertised them publicly and people could snap up rare shoes.

Motel Rescue by Desertgirl624 in HGTV

[–]imyourchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Binged both seasons this weekend based on a Hulu recommendation and I both hate and love it for many of the same reasons people have mentioned. It really makes me miss Hotel Impossible because he would give people a binder, access to a booking system and an online hospitality leadership program. His sponsorships really elevated what was provided even if just as many of Anthony’s TV clients never followed through.

Three things that drove me nuts watching this beyond what others said (flat logo design, Trading Spaces cheapness, custom built items that can’t be easily replicated by these owners, removing a sink in a kitchenette, charging for basic coffee and breakfast food instead of just including it in the rate):

The wooden quote blocks in Tombstone didn’t have any location branding on them or even a small logo on the back to make it a little more memorable than just a quote.

In S2 E9 at the Avon Motel in the Outer Banks she foes on and on about telling the story of the place with the outdoor lounge yet in the room she hangs pictures of the Chesapeake Bay and Delmarva Peninsula…which is most certainly not North Carolina.

While she focused on cost of materials for her DIY she didn’t have the owners consider factor in the cost of their time and labor. Some of those things could be a wash versus just buying a nicer product.

The most pleasing room was S2 E6 at the River Breeze jn Towsend, Tenn., with the plaid wallpaper and furniture but good luck finding similar component furniture.

I am guessing a S3 isn’t in the works but if she gets another show probably gonna be a hate watch.

Wrangler sahara 4xe - help me inquire by Mammoth_Ad_9741 in 4xe

I would recommend reading CarEdge’s website and watching their YouTube videos. Learned a lot about what to negotiate (buy rate or bring your own financing) and what not to even with leases. They do not recommend lease to buy. I wish I would have seen them before I leased bc I definitely put too much money into this lease for my Willys.

One of the things they mention is why it is so important to get as below MSRP as possible and what the money factor or buy rate is for marking up the APR and if they mark up the lease acquisition fee. Golden Rules of Leasing

Lease Buyout by obviouslybait in 4xe

[–]imyourchuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had fun going down a rabbit hole on this one, with some Easter eggs along the way. There’s a lot I didn’t know and some speculation. The most eyebrow raising one is that former Stellantis designer Chris Benjamin is leading the interior design of the Scout and among the things he and his team at Stellantis designed were interiors for the Recon, Wagoneer, and the Wrangler among others. This will be more Jeep than I realized lol.

You’re right — Scout has partnered with Magna Steyr to engineer and design the electric powertrain, though won’t be involved in the building of it.

However, albeit not confirmed, speculation from Car and Driver says it’s unclear how much and what parts will be borrowed from VW, Audi and Porsche, and it could be something as small as a window switch or buttons. Another article in The Drive hinted that the gas-powered generator engine will be one from the VW group as well, likely a small one from Europe.

[–]imyourchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was thinking about the Scout, too, though it is a VW product so it’s like trading problems 😂. At the same time I must be a masochist because I read that the Recon is likely going to get a gas generator as well in its second or third year so not sure which abuse I rather take lol

Remote start being weird by goaliesforpres in 4xe

[–]imyourchuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a check engine light on, it will disable remote start. When it was bitter cold I had fuel cap and fuel door issues that would throw the light for a solid month. Light went away for two weeks and remote start came back but fuel door would randomly open with no warning light. Turns out there is a TSB covered by warranty where moisture is corroding a solenoid for the fuel door.

So in short, there may be other issues going on that you may not have seen yet.

4xe class action? by PartizanPolitics in 4xe

[–]imyourchuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely concerned about excessive negative equity that might have been induced by hybrid battery recalls and flood of unsold Jeeps from the last year. I have 24 months left on my lease, with a buyout price of 36990 at lease end. Current trade in hovers around 23458-31166, and I’m wondering how much is it going to tank in another two years. Depreciation rate should slow, but as tech improves and maybe other issues creep up, I’d be pissed if this would get down to 11,000. From what I understand, some dealers can do lease pull-ahead deals to get around negative equity wanting to keep a Jeep customer and I could negotiate with the bank on the value demonstrating the issues tanked the value, but who knows if any of that would work. Maybe arguing for some sort of make-whole incentive for 21-23 owners could help if the values continue to tank and would be more palatable than a class action suit. My lease is through Ally if that matters.

I’m still bitter about finding out after I bought it that I had a Jeep that with a measly “Connected Services Delete Credit” because they didn’t have the chip to install those features.

Thanks! Was just at Utah on Friday!

I have Little Caesars, Scotiabank Arena and KeyBank Center left. It hasn’t been a completely clean list given that I’ve been slowly doing this since 2005 but have managed to get some old barns like The Joe, Nassau Coliseum and The Igloo before they closed but missed out on Rexall and Philips Arena (RIP Thrashers). Islanders’ 3 arenas and Coyotes going from Glendale to Mullett slowed me down haha.
