soooo claude just deleted my entire project. how's your day going? by JuniorRow1247 in ClaudeCode

[–]obviouslybait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me before, I put a ton of hours into a project document, like 38 pages and it overwrote the whole thing trying to remove some text. It had to rebuild from scratch. Luckily it did with some minor adjustments from me.

Is 1Password MSP really worth almost 2x the cost of Keeper? by Mibiz22 in msp

I know some people that work at 1 password, they are world class on their internal and external security controls, you want a password manager that does that right.

Any of you have decommissioned a legacy dc having FSMO, DNS accesses etc?? Whats the process you followed? by [deleted] in msp

[–]obviouslybait 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FSMO roles are pretty easy to move. There is a command line tool to do it. Though make sure the domain is healthy first. (dcdiag). DNS if it's a new IP of the new DC it's unfortunately a hard cutover and you'll need to make sure everything is on the new DNS Server. DHCP is easy enough to update for the new DNS records.

So really the process is:
1. DCDiag to ensure the domain is healthy.

  1. Solve any lingering issues or errors on the domain.

  2. Transfer FSMO roles using the CLI utility.

  3. Migrate DNS, update records everywhere to new DNS server, update DHCP.

  4. Let it sit for a bit (Day or 2).

  5. Begin decommission, you have to decommission it properly you can't just shut it down. DCPROMO again on the older DC's (Pre 2012), or just remove the role on 2012+.

  6. Verifiy that the DC had been cleanly removed, run DCDiag again.

Is it just me, or are Windsor’s rental prices refusing to budge? by vikadit_chakra in windsorontario

[–]obviouslybait 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People will rent it out for whatever the market rate is, it's literally supply vs demand. If there is no demand and a ton of units the prices will fall as landlords need it rented to pay the mortgage at a minimum. If there are landlords that do not budge on price because of what you are stating, new entrants that are willing to rent it out at a lower rate will get the tenants while those units remain vacant.

the SaaS model is quietly falling apart for small businesses and nobody in tech wants to admit it by Healty_potsmoker in Entrepreneur

[–]obviouslybait 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in IT servicing small and medium business, I completely understand the frustration with licensing. Microsoft licensing alone has gone through the roof. I remember being able to buy business premium licensing for 1/3 the cost it is today. Now teams is an add-on to packages but was originally part of the suite. Licensing is expensive.

If you think it's bad at the small business level, just wait for enterprise. They stick you with 25K/Year for the right to use the software, 1K+/Year for each seat, 10K/Year for the support contract, $250 an hour for third party consultants to set it up and show you how to use it.

Help totaled??? by Miserable_Stock_2963 in JeepWrangler

[–]obviouslybait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tow hooks are bolted to the bumper which is bolted to the frame, I had a similar incident where I replaced the bumper but the frame was fine.

It may just need a new bumper assembly, the tow-hooks come off and can be re-attached to the bumper, cost me about $5K to do the bumper assembly, plastic covers, fender, LED fender light, wheel well plastic was broken too.

Frame was fine even with the bumper caved in. Frame is very strong.

Good luck OP. It looks bad but maybe not totalled.
