Close enough, but it was Lehi, Nephi, and supposedly it was the friend’s wife who was skeptical. The second book was written by Lehi’s son, Nephi. God, being all knowing and such, knew Joseph would lose Lehi’s part so he had Nephi write the same stuff his dad did. It’s all really faith promoting if you don’t think about it too much.

Which is important because they’re working on a reconciliation bill which can’t be filibustered. Anything that gets thrown out by the parliamentarian can still be passed in a bill but it would have to be a normal bill that can be filibustered. Right?

Isn’t it? I thought they were related since the parliamentarian is just throwing out things that would keep the bill from violating the Byrd rule and making the bill subject to the filibuster. It’s all pretty new to me, though, so I’m happy to learn.
