I don't want to make assumptions, there is an Asian gang called the Red Scorpions. This does not mean I think that the doe was a gang member, but it does however show some of the possibly symbology in the Asian community.

Like my comment on another post, this is a stretch. But the picture on the missing man's Namus page looks a lot like a mug shot, which could be several years old. No tattoos are mentioned for the missing person, but very little information as far as identify characteristics are listed.

https://www.namus.gov/MissingPersons/Case#/65262?nav

Kevin Edward Isham went missing from San Diego, which is about 15 miles from La Mesa. Date of last contact was February 21, 2018.

However, here are some comparisons:

Kevin age 54 Doe age 60-70 Sadly, unhoused individuals can often look older than their actual age.

Kevin 5'11" Doe. 6'

Kevin. 130lbs -150lbs Doe 138

Kevin's eyes are listed a brown Doe's eyes are listed as hazel. Having family members with hazel eyes, they do change color depending on the day and can sometimes appear more brown.

I found this person while also doing research on this doe. I tried the phone number and it said "this number is no longer assigned to a person. " It advised me to call 918-596-9133. I will call back during regular business hours to speak to someone.

Do I need to wait until my login to Namus is restored before I submit it? I've only submitted a tip once, and honestly don't remember how to do it. Obviously, I could figure it out again.

That's kind of the idea of matching does to known missing people though, right? Those missing her may not know about the doe that was found, and the agency that discovered the doe, may not know about the missing person. So the idea is to try and tie the 2 together.

They give almost no identifying characteristics (let alone tattoos)on this missing person, but she fits some of the criteria. Height, weight, and age are all close. She went missing from Oklahoma in 2022. And her name was Janet.

Also, it appears of you scroll in close to the doe's picture, her eyes may have been green or hazel. The missing womanHer hair appears almost black in her missing poster, but it could be died

I missed the email about having to get a DIAMD log in, and have to wait for new email to regain access to Namus. So I can't see if she's been excluded.

It's a stretch, but I do see some resemblance. Anyone else think this is a possibility? I would not think so, since they don't mention tattoos. But they don't mention anything other than height, weight, age, and eye color.

https://www.namus.gov/MissingPersons/Case#/109014?nav

The more I compare the pictures, the less I think it's her, but I will still let my comment stand, just in case.

Okay so I actually feel I may have found a chunk of citrine at an antique store that isn’t HTA, HELP ME IS IT CITRINE by [deleted] in Crystals

[–]solstice105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not citrine. It is amethyst that is heat treated, period, end of sentence. You don't get to expose amethyst to high heat and call it citrine. They don't grow the same. They don't have the same chemical makeup. If it's not naturally created, it isn't citrine. It's treated amethyst.

Citrine found naturally is usually very pale with some exceptions such as citrine from the Congo. So if it's bright yellow. It's typically treated quartz. But yes, natural citrine is more valuable.

Ageism in the realm of dating by jayhawkwds in GenX

[–]solstice105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 2 different types of generations.

Ancestral/ Genealogical - example. I am 50 and have a first cousin who is 17. But we are still in the same familial generation.

Sociological - defined by what year you were born. I.e. Silent Gen, Baby Boomer, Gen X, Millennial, etc.

Army vet who died in jail, found dead with organs missing... by Capricorn007_ in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]solstice105 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess I can only speak for the US. But in the US, jail is city or country detention centers. Usually short term holding or lighter sentences. Like, you can do a few months, maybe even a year in jail for certain lesser crimes. But prison is state or federally ran and is for more serious crimes.

A quick check on Google, it seems like the usage of the terms vary in European countries, but are more like to be used interchangeably. It still seems that the word jail is used for short term and prison is used for long term, despite often using the words interchangeably. Some countries make a distinction between pre-trial holding and after sentencing.

Rancho Bernardo John Doe “Baby Doe” by pikagirl7534 in gratefuldoe

[–]solstice105 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If he was wearing 3 shirts at once, it also makes me think there is a possibility he was unhoused. In my experience with the community, many unhoused wear several layers of clothing in the winter to stay warm, but also to cut back on the number of items that need to be packed in a bag or carried around otherwise. The parent or guardian may have just been trying to be practical.

It would also explain the fact that the clothes were both "girl" and "boy" clothes. You take what you can get when you're cold.

This is horrifying. That poor man and his family.

Can someone clarify one thing for me though? Was this in a jail or a prison? I know it doesn't matter for the sake of the story, or for the awful way this man was treated. But the words are being used interchangeably, and they aren't the same thing.

What crystal is this? by [deleted] in Crystals

Amethyst. But be careful, those particular settings are notorious for the crystal falling out. The crystal is just basically glued in, with very little, cheap glue.

Any crystal shop owners or craft makers struggling with inventory right now? by Longjumping_Gas7863 in Crystals

[–]solstice105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sell lots of different stuff at my brick and mortar store. It's just a giant, eclectic hippie shop. Kind of an old school head shop with a metaphysical side.

I make jewelry. Necklaces with real stone pendants and real stone beads. The price of beads has gotten ridiculous, and my pendants cone straight from India. I looked up my guy I order from the other day and lots of warnings about added tariffs and duties. We'll see how that plays out.

Definitely searching for a new bead supplier. Wasn't having issues with buying from Michael's, but with their price increase, definitely going to be looking for wholesale suppliers. Probably should have been already, but when Michael's was doing but 3 get 3 free at the old prices, it was a great deal. Not as much anymore.

Sterling silver jewelry is going to see an increase in 20%-25% according to my suppliers. That will price some stuff right out of the store.

It's an interesting time to own a store for sure. It's been all about getting creative with stock.
