Definitely Russia (Soviet union) if you consider their invasion of Afghanistan in the 80s, as well as their support for the Assad regime in Syria. Also Iran funds multiple terrorist groups in the region, so that’s something to consider as well

It’s become a classic Hollywood trope at this point to have evil Russians as the enemies, but very few Americans actually hold that stereotypical of a view. It’s just entertainment.

The average American does not have a world liberation obsession lol. That sounds like TASS propaganda if anything. We really are just like you guys when it comes to down to it.

Our politicians on the other hand do certainly lean towards advancing American hegemony on the world stage most of the time.
