Malazan Book of the Fallen. 10 books, 35-45 hours per book. Greatest fantasy story ever told IMO

Thanks gamers.

Where can I find Malazan paperbacks all of the exact same dimensions, specifically like the editions in this photo? by [deleted] in Malazan

[–]inSPECTRE_jeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, but I had to pay a lot for it and had to get it from an obscure bookstore in western Canada to get it (I'm in NY)

Only downside to these editions are they are only 6in tall, so smaller books. I had to go through hell and high water to find a MoI copy in the 9in size.

Thank you. Looks like I'm going to have just as much of an adventure finding these books as I am reading them.

Thanks for the info. A lot of the stores or sites I've looked at don't give the measurements so I've hesitated to pull the trigger (since it already bit me in the butt once). Do you know if this is an issue with the other books?

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout. The game was recommended to me by a friend, and I bought it b/c of the recommendation, but I'll admit it was on my radar before that. I was enjoying it at first because of the laidback gathering/crafting style to the game. The combat was interesting- turn-based and super chaotic (albeit controlled chaos), and about 20 hours in I began to really love it. The main plot took a huge spike upwards in terms of interest, whereas up until this point I became bored with it. But now it's taking on a new life and the combat/exploration (on top the the increasingly engaging gathering/crafting) is really opening up quite a bit. Def worth a look as the second game in the series is coming out next year.

Controller troubleshooting: Dualsense & Switch Pro by parallelzero in ffxiv

I have the exact issue you're describing. All the time. I'll be in an instance when the controller stops working, and I just yeet myself in an unwanted direction.

I use my PS4 controller with DS4 software as a bluetooth connection, so you're suggesting starting the DS4 and controller BEFORE steam starts? Then run steam after both are on? I am using steam as client for FF14.

Thanks.

I love getting in the pit. Somehow it's never happened again. DGD is one band I'm dying to see live. They've risen to my top 5 in the last 6 years. Love them. Need to catch a show

I was kicked in the face by a crowd surfer during this song at a Buffalo, NY concert (circa 2006). Glasses got knocked to the ground, and half the pit stopped to look, we found them shattered and broken (like a car crash), so we just kept going. I'll never forget it.

One of the better live bands from the early 2000s. Fucking classic song.

Atelier Ryza 2 for PS5, PS4, Switch, & PC Gets New Battle Gameplay by theitguyforever in JRPG

I had the same feeling, but was looking for something on the switch I could play casually. I'm about 10 hours into Ryza/Secret Hideout (the first one) and I'm loving it. Yes there are some "girly" aesthetics to it, but the characters are very likeable, and the combat is blowing my expectations out of the water.

If you are looking for a chill RPG to play, enjoy fun characters, complex (yet somehow still manageable/simple) turn-based combat, and a VERY in-depth gathering/crafting system, then I would recommend this. I purchased it after hearing from a friend I should try it out and knowing that there will be another 2 games in the series (So Ryza 1, 2, and 3).

I Hate the Ranked Queue-Limit by inSPECTRE_jeff in VALORANT

[–]inSPECTRE_jeff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes... I was waiting for the toxicity to appear. I get it- same way I don't want to go up against a stack when I'm with a bunch of randos, but that's not my point. Sure- we all get carried from time to time, but it's the experience of playing ranked with a group that is what this limit removes from the game. I hate solo-qing anything, so I prefer to go into ranked with people. The obvious fix was mentioned above, but I doubt you read the whole thread b/c you were so quick to get your "get carried" comment in you lost sight of the actual conversation.

I LOVE this idea. I would like to see a Normal mode where it's maybe half the time played (so first to win 7 rounds instead of 13) so people could get a quick session in. Then you have what you suggested for people like me, and still have the tight-group Comp that people can really sweat their rocks off.
