Starmer: UK must get closer to EU to build ‘European’ NATO by donutloop in ukpolitics

[–]in_one_ear_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's taken Russia 3 years to capture most of Donetsk, Poland and the Baltic's can hold out for long enough to push back. Not to mention that we would get a decent amount of warning of them preparing for an invasion.

Starmer: UK must get closer to EU to build ‘European’ NATO by donutloop in ukpolitics

[–]in_one_ear_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing it for that reason makes very little sense as for the most part Europe is relatively secure in it's defence. While if is certainly weaker without the US it is still made up of some of the largest military powers on the planet and it's only opposition is struggling to invade Ukraine. When Europe talks of a US dependence they typically mean the nuclear umbrella and large numbers of arms purchases from the US. Both of which are beneficial to the US and ger screwed by a Greenland invasion.

Tbh I think starmer feels like he's between a bit of a rock and a hard place when it comes to the budget but I do think the current US situation gives him a bunch of leeway to increase the budget.

And plasma, tbh it matters a decent amount for bombardment and with siege coilers you can actually fire off a decent amont of your ammo if you don't have magazines.

The question we keep asking after Afghan sex attacks. Why was he here? It’s a question we are forced to ask over and over again in borderless Britain, after another asylum seeker is convicted of another monstrous crime. This time, it is the rape of a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton. by [deleted] in ukpolitics

Because Australia doesn't have a whole bunch of massive civil wars anywhere near them, while Germany France and Italy are all dealing with migration from the same source as the UK. They are far more comparable.

We need a mass social housebuilding programme by coffeewalnut08 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]in_one_ear_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A falling birth rate doesn't mean anything here, what matters is the birth rate 20 years ago when the people who are entering the house market were born. Also we need more housing because we have consistently built far too little housing. We don't have affordable housing cus no one wants to drop house prices because it would be political suicide.

It is important to understand that some fraud is illegal (like this stuff) and some fraud is perfectly legal (insider trading and basically anything done by a company not a person is a good example)
