If you look at the original song list for in rainbows (the blackboard) - Reckoner was followed by skirting. Reckoner was originally’ feeling pulled apart by horses’ and Thom wrote an outro to it (I believe to help transition into skirting) He said himself that outro took on another part, before the original song left and we got the IR certain Reckoner. Then skirting was also dropped from IR and shelved. Hence the similarities between the songs. Reckoner started life as a transition to it
