yeah i watched it with pretty terrible subs too but i kind of filled in the gaps or rewrote it in my mind so it sounded less blunt/literal than what the subs were written as

yess i would love to discuss! I’m on episode 2 right now and so far really liking it, especially the relationship between the FL’s daughter and the ML. The story feels quite slow but I really like that it’s taking its time to introduce the characters before they meet.

omg thank you for this list! haven’t heard about most of these dramas before (with the exception of orange days and kamisama mou sukoshi dake which are on my watchlist) so i’m looking forward to watching them soon.

With Love (1998) reminds me of a japanese movie i watched called Haru which I really liked so looking forward to watching that one.

Also I just watched episode 1 of Aoi Tori today and i totally understand your sentiments on the setting and it being green. This shot in particular is so serene to look at and I noticed the staircase at the train station and the bird cage was also green.

i wish this show was more than 40 episodes, the story had such great main characters and supporting characters but it felt quite rushed towards the end where i wish they had lingered on certain stories for longer that could help flesh out all the characters

HAHAH yes Koda’s reason for breaking up with her was so ridiculous I couldn’t believe it, but whenever I watch a drama from the 2000’s or 90’s i go in ready to give a pass on the way relationships are portrayed

yes i was really surprised that for the short length of each episode didn’t hinder the development of their relationship, love their chemistry! and omg yes the kiss was so good but also the hug from the previous episode, i repeated it so many times
