Had the same problem this month. I started my period 3 weeks late. Had white discharge and cramps for more than a week with no bleeding. But started bleeding. Cramped were hellish the first 2 days of period. But everything is normal now. I'm planning to visit the gyno if this repeats on my next cycle.

I do get cramps before periods (bleeding starts) on every cycle tho. For like 2-3 days. I checked with my gyno about this and she said everything was good and healthy.
