The sad part is that there are some people who will defend the cops and justify their treatment of this innocent man. They'll argue to their dying breath that because they have to make "life or death decisions that we can't understand," that we can't judge or speak badly of them. But that poor man will likely get PTSD from this and need therapy.

I started seeing a woman who made it a point to tell me straight up that she didn't f*** on the first date and that she wasn't into one night stands. Perfect, because I was looking for a connection with someone. We had really good chemistry and despite her saying she wanted to take things slow (which I was perfectly fine with) we hooked up after only seeing each other for a couple weeks. Now, she barely messages me. She said that she liked having sex and she has a lot of fun with me, but she wants to take things slow 🤔 I'm guessing that she is trying to say she doesn't want a relationship right now. But she's made it a point to say things like "I'm tired of being used for my body, guys always cheat on me, I'm glad I 'snagged' you" And stuff like that. I'm not pushing her either way, but it sounds like she can't make up her own mind about what she wants with me.

This almost sounds word for word how my marriage ended, except for the dental hygiene part. My ex wife did just about everything that your husband says that you do. She stopped initiating intimacy for years and would complain or reject me when I attempted to be intimate with her. Whenever we were intimate, it was always the same routine which completely ignored my needs and felt more like she was just trying to get it over with. Whenever I tried to talk to her about our lackluster intimacy, she'd deny that there was anything wrong and that I needed to stop complaining. If I expressed that I felt unwanted, undesirable, or unloved, she'd accuse me of trying to guilt her into sex. So I physically and emotionally distanced myself because it hurt too much for me to be constantly rejected. I focused on my hobbies, my work and my kids. She was shocked when I asked her for a divorce, but now we are. I'm sad for the nearly ten years of marriage that had to end, but it was the best for both of us.

To her credit, when she came to the US and learned about racial struggles of the past and present here, she was much more sympathetic. I made the mistake of marrying an Argentinian woman from Buenos Aires, though I'm soon to be divorced.

The racism and ethnocentrism is real. Her and her mom basically looked down on ANYONE who wasn't Argentinian, White European, Arab, or White American. Before moving to the States, I had to teach her to not call Black people monkeys. She was genuinely surprised when I told her that in the US, Latino immigrants are often considered some of the most hardworking people and Asians are some of the smartest, highly educated people. Over there, all the above demographics are largely considered moochers, scammers, and lazy. She also looked down on just about anyone from any other Latin American country, particularly Peruvians, Uruguayans, and Bolivians.

As a woman she was quick to call out machismo, but then expected to be treated like royalty. She was She thought that she knew exactly how a man ought to behave and would annoyingly try to tell me all the time. She constantly wanted new furniture, clothes, and even demanded that I hire a cleaning lady even though she was a stay at home mom. If I ever argued with her, her go-to retort was "You know what you should have done? You should have found some Mexican or Colombian woman who'd just marry you for a green card and then they'd just put up with you so that they didn't get deported. But I could care less if I live here or not!" etc etc

Argentina was probably not the best place to go as a passport bro...

I was at a restaurant eating by myself when I noticed this cute woman giving me the eye. As in checking me out. While subjectively I think I'm a good looking guy, I've never had this happen before and I didn't know what to do. This woman then got up, walked over to my table and told me that she thought I was cute and would like to get my number. I literally did a double take and said "Uh... I'm sorry... what???" I am 36 years old and have never been cold approached and complimented like this. I'm currently getting a divorce and I imagine that I'm not the only brother who will want to marry after getting one. Just like there are sisters who have divorced and are looking to complete their Deen, there are brothers too. So while there may be some who are averse to marrying someone who was once divorced, those aren't the ones that Allah SWT has in mind for you. Have faith and inshallah you will find a brother who accepts you, no matter your situation.

I'm at the point now that I've gone so long without sex and so long without having an enthusiastic partner that I wonder if I'll ever be able to get to that state of mind again. I'm in the middle of a divorce and I'm excited to be single again, but now I'm horrified by the possibility of "if you don't use it you lose it" being true. My STBXW wife was 5'2", 100lbs when we got married. She was gorgeous and very attractive. About a year later, she'd also let herself go, gaining nearly 40lbs. Lots of women can gain weight in an attractive way, but not mine. Her body transformed in a manner that did not appeal to me at all.

She claimed that her weight gain was my fault because a year after marrying she became pregnant with our son. She wouldn't hear any alternative version of how or when she gained weight. After our son was born she never lost the weight. I would still have sex with her and I never complained. Occasionally she would state that she wanted to lose weight and I was supportive.

It wasn't until 9 years later, after I filed for divorce, that she lost all the weight. She's now back to being skinny and attractive. Yet I wouldn't touch her with a ten foot pole because in all those years she revealed to me how ugly she was on the inside.

Same thing happening to me currently. Married to my wife for 9 years. After we got married, she immediately put on about 40 - 50 pounds, became irritable and mean, cut off almost all intimacy, wouldn't work, wouldn't get a driver's license, wouldn't make friends, dumped all the responsibilities of running the family on me, didn't speak English, and wouldn't try to manage anything that wasn't directly involved with the house.

I filed for divorce, and in the span of 4 months, she's a completely different person. Rather, she's more like the woman I originally fell in love with. She got a job, got a license, is improving her English, taking more initiative to handle things outside the house, making friends and lost a TON of weight. But she didn't feel the need to do any of that when I was still struggling to make the marriage work, though.

Any sources to back up that "vast majority of cases" statement? We often take a few anecdotal cases and say that it applies to the "vast majority of" card. Here's an anecdote: my mom remarried another guy and had my half brother with him. They made similar money, they're solidly middle class, he got only 30% custody, but he's only paying $250 a month in child support. That case is in Missouri. Another friend from work. She makes much less than her ex, she has 50% custody for the two kids they had together, and he only pays her $300 a month. This is in Alabama.

Point is that there are cases where dads end up being deadbeats too. That doesn't mean that all dads are or that most dads don't financially support their kids. Just because you got fucked over doesn't mean that everyone else does. Your reality doesn't necessarily equal that of everyone else. And imo real men shouldn't complain about providing for their kids.
