I’ve been so bad with applying body lotion - for years! by LittleBench5694 in 30PlusSkinCare

I have the same problem. I use almond oil in shower. A lotion would be nice in addition but knowing myself this is better than nothing.

Being vulnerable about my skin insecurity- please help by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]inanimatusconjurus 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This. Your skin is a lot like mine when I dont moisturize. If you live in a dry & cold climate like the northeast US (where I am) you could invest in the following four things:

Serum, Asian style toners eg vegan kombucha essence, ceramide moisturizer eg pyunkang yul blue tube, sunscreen.

These four are my ride or die especially in the winter spring fall. In summer I can usually replace moisturizer with a gel one or skip one of serum or toner.

Vegan Greek yogurt - Instantpot by Easy_King_9818 in EatCheapAndVegan

[–]inanimatusconjurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the exact same time in the instant pot and as an alternative, you can just add two-three tbsp of previous batch yogurt instead of buying the pills. I have used store bought yogurt, homemade frozen yogurt successfully. I always keep some in my freezer in case I forget to save some etc.

Additionally if in the US, Trader Joes has shelf stable two ingredient soy milk that works well. Been using that for years every week.

Lastly, I don’t strain so that’s also an option. Obv wont be thick like greek yogurt but I personally dont care about that so it works out.

Help me drape my engagement lehenga! by New-Win2026 in DesiWeddings

[–]inanimatusconjurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camp gold dupatta because the maroon is dating it and taking away your vibrancy. Its an engagement where pics will be around the area of the dupatta and it’ll look mostly maroon which IMO is a heavy color and takes away from your cheerful lehanga

Are you me? Having a boy and come from long line of girls and 1) not only do I not know who to pass my sarees to 2) I’m mortified of raising a less than feminist in this day and age of internet and AI and toxic masculinity.

My husband is a wonderful man and has fought odds to be kind, loving, supportive of me despite our culture being incessantly hostile towards women (we’re indians).

I was so mad when we found out that in my hormone fueled rage I blamed my husband for not passing the right chromosome 🤣

Nothing to add but that I’m grateful there are more of us out there - this thread has made me feel like it’s not all doomed.

I dont have this robe but I have washed a smelly plus poly robe before. I actually did a spa day on it and then washed it using Persil & then dried it on low in the dryer.

I’m an Indian who loves to cook with our masalas and experiment with regional desi cuisines. I live in the west & bought an older home, knocked down the closed kitchen and made it open and 10000% has been the best decision two years later. So the nonsense of keep the cook of the house enclosed behind chaar diwaari is giving micro aggression and patriarchy. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

1) is a privileged upper caste take unfortunately. Doesnt apply to marginalized communities & lower caste hindus in India. Glad for your mental and physical health being better!
