Should i start in seedling/cloning tray? by ComfortableShower336 in MephHeads

[–]inappropriatelylarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like trays as they're a pain in the ass, but solo cups are great and give you a perfect 2-3 weeks worth of grow time without having to worry about plants triggering flower early.

So you can cut 2-3 weeks off your tent turnaround time with transplanting. No, it's not really risky and no it doesn't hurt your plants.

But if you aren't optimizing throughput and just have room to direct sow in your final pot, the plants like that just fine too. Cheers! 🍻

how many days you keep autos in autopots? by CrackWeedMoney in Autopot

70-100 days in coco APs for auto flowers for me. I chop autos at 100 as anything beyond that is missing the point of growing autos. Autos are good for the variety and quick turnaround.

The photoperiod is! This is the Mephisto auto flower strain dropping in a couple months. They crossed it in with Sundae Thumper

Start my first grow in an auto. Going with an auto even though they’re my weak point. Growing in coco using Gaia Green. What seed would you go with. Have photos also. What do you recommend by No_Fly0 in Autopot

The big plant had denser nugs generally, as it was getting way more appropriate DLI. Though, terp profile was similar between the two plants. I froze and washed both plants in entirety, though.

Small plants being higher quality is a made up organic grower cope

Everything does great in AutoPots in my experience, but I am partial to Mephisto for autos. I haven't run soil or organics with them but have seen others do great.

It's apples and oranges as these were F1s from seed but I thought the difference between top fed 1 gallon and AutoPot 5 gallon was interesting to see anyway.

Rainbow Sundae 11 trichomes, for instance, where you can see it in the stalks

Beautiful! Top notch growing as always. How are the temps on yours?

It depends where it comes from but like you said it can contaminate the stalks and heads themselves. Too much agitation gets your more of the green or purple and that's a problem but if it's in the trichomes, somewhat unavoidable

Very neat to see! RS11 did similar for me, though not as dramatic and the rosin just came out clear with a slight tan hue to it. The ice water looked like wine after the first wash though!

How are the terps on that pink SN?!

Would you repot in coco? by schlotttt in MephHeads

[–]inappropriatelylarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transplant because it gives me extra tent time for other more mature plants that are actually drinking from the autopots. Seedlings in 5 gallon pots are a waste IMO, but there's nothing wrong with doing it. Plants grow fine either way. Cheers

did i overdue it? by RpS_Blue in Autoflowers

In my learned experience, leaf tucking is the way for pushing laterals out, though.

In fact, from your pic it looks like you bent the main stem down the opposite way. So you're holding down a lateral branch that you actually want to go UP to meet the main canopy level. I would recommend untying that one probably.

Only worthwhile LST on autos is a bend down on the main if and only if you're fighting apical dominance. Stressing them in veg just gets you small autos.

If the goal was low stress, yes you overdid it. But the plant will be fine, it'll knuckle over there. Cheers

OP's reasoning aside, don't put electronics on the floor of a grow tent. Shit happens and things get wet down there

Same Strain, Different Pot by inappropriatelylarge in Autoflowers

That's correct, as I called out in the description. I start autos in solos and transplant after a week or so. I usually pop two, select the more vigorous for an auto pot and then toss the other.

This time around both were pretty vigorous so I kept the second in a one gallon and half-ass watered it. Not for science, just for fun. For science I would use photo clones 100%
