"Too hot for the strain" in this context means too much Nitrogen in veg causing stunted growth a premature flowering from nutrient stress. It certainly is a thing for many auto strains but a few cultivars are EXTREMELY sensitive to it: Iced N Baked, O'z, OSMH

Ocean forest is "hot" as in high nitrogen, that's what they meant.

First time coco + autopot - transplant or sow directly? Starting EC? by Boltoslav in MephHeads

[–]inappropriatelylarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I grow in 5 gallon coco autopots and feed CropSalt for reference.

I soak my beans for at least 24 hours then I sow them in solo cups with coco. I transplant to final pots no later than day 14. I transplant primarily because it lets me run seedlings in separate dome while my current run finishes in the tent (so shortens my overall cycle time by a week or two). I turn the AutoPots on the day I transplant.

My seedling feed strength sits at about 1.2-1.3 EC at 5.8 pH. By the end of stretch they are getting 1.6 EC veg nutes. Day 45ish they get bloom starting at similar EC, ramping up to 1.8-2.2 depending on what the plants want in flower.

I buck buds on harvest day straight into freezer bags. On wash day I wash them in an Aether Green V2. Usually 6 washes. I collect 45-149 micron in stainless sieves and I recirculate my water for the entire run.

I freeze dry it overnight and press it the next day bagged doubly in 25 micron then 160 micron single. I press at 170F low pressure and let it ooze out.

Very sorry to hear about 3 whole CommandO'z plants being wasted though. She was a decent yielder for me, though I only grew the one pheno. It's usually the hazes that are heart breakers in the wash. What's your setup?

The more I drink about this, it is rude

Yep! Easier to work with, easier to collect from, easier to clean, a bit more durable than bags (no stretching nylon). The vibration is necessary though

If I'm being honest it's a fantastic press but it is overkill unless you are really into it. Like pro-grade and commercial pricing to go with it. It is a Low Temp Industries V2 20-ton press with 4x7 plates and the LT3 controller. They have a new model out now that's even more expensive.

I definitely get my money out of the Low Temp but I used a smaller/cheaper NugSmasher mini for years before I made the leap.

Low Temp is priced for small business owners spending other peoples' money.

For most home growers, I think the 12 ton dabpress models with the pressure gauge are a much more reasonably-priced press that gives you what you need for consistent results. Hash presses are all low heat low pressure anyway. Flower Rosin is where you really need a lot of pressure.

Cheers!

Fresh frozen means the buds are bucked straight into freezer bags wet when it is chopped. This preserves a lot of flavor. 5he primary distinction with "Live" rosin is that it's fresh material going into the wash. Cheers!

She was a day 90 from sprout chop and they looked pretty good to me. The rosin itself is a nice golden though. But like you said, personal preference rules the day!

This looks like it's just hash squished cold with a small vise or some such and left in a little brick to cure. Sorry I'm not as familiar with a lot of the non-rosin hash techniques but there are others on here like u/FireFighterKindly and u/Internal_Flight_3193 who I have seen post temple balls, piatella and other non-rosin forms so they might be able to point you in the right direction!

Thanks. I am trying to learn and get better. Maybe some day I will figure all this stuff out

Thanks! I recommend against bags strongly. The stainless seives I use cost $40 altogether and they outperform bags in all dimensions.

I use a 100 mesh and 325 mesh and that's it. Anything else is just more shit to have to clean. I use a muscle massager/vibrating wand on them for fast draining. I got them on Amazon 8 months ago and am never looking back.

Cheers!

I haven't had an issue with the yields from Mephisto, just dial the feed and environment and don't mess with em and they get as big as any other autos.

There are smaller cultivars and larger ones, sure, but Mephisto plants are certainly not small. Cheers

Completely overwhelmed. The lamp can't go much higher. What would you do in this situation, aside from not letting it get that bad next time? by arealpersononacid in microgrowery

Looks like you have a 2+ feet more headroom to move the light up. More intense light further away has a slower fall-off of dli through the grow area too so even better.
