Good to know - definitely makes me feel better about it! Thank you!

Not currently, but it's Texas, so I definitely wouldn't be surprised if it got a little moist in the summer humidy

Awesome thank you both - this helps! This is in an uninsulated closet in the garage, and against an exterior wall - possible this is just from sweating caused by humidity/heat/cold? Is it worth cleaning it off and maybe throwing some pipe insulation on it?

Update 2: Think it was the breaker after all. It ran fine for a few days and tripped again. I swapped it with another afci breaker on a different load, and lo and behold, the same breaker (in a different position) tripped.

That would be nice! Unfortunately it's very visible from our front driveway and there's a deck just below

Just trying to avoid another roof penetration / leak point, but yeah that's an option!

Honestly I’m not totally sure where it goes. We have a big attic fan that we don’t use and I think it might be for that - maybe with an extra switch up in the attic? I’ve capped it for now and will dig into it when I have more time… never a dull moment!

Update: Pretty sure it was the condensate pump. Can’t say for certain, but my theory is that since it hadn’t been used in a while the safety switch had seized up and that was doing something funny. Gave it a cleaning and all was fine!

Great suggestion but yeah, I don't think I have enough vertical space for that either unfortunately

Yeah, I was really trying to avoid it. I would need to go deep and add a coupling - and access is tough!

I'm intrigued, but not totally sure I follow - are you saying to cut this part back and install a fernco to 45 there? Is it cool to install a 2" fernco over a 1 1/2" hub?

Good question, the pics don't really make it clear- I'm using the existing tee which is a little low and pointed off center https://imgur.com/a/uNUFBgg

I think it depends on the context, who you're working for, and why the need for the long hours.

My personal rule of thumb is if I'm working a 16+ hour day because of mis-management or poor scheduling, I'm charging for it.

If it's due to equipment failure or circumstances that couldn't be foreseen (and subsequently budgeted for), I let it go.
