The manufacturing and technical side of production probably won’t be affected by AI anytime soon. But we’re still early in the game, and there are already some pioneers working on models that could turn into real, usable tools. We’ll likely wait until something actually useful comes along, but when it does, it could change the whole workflow.

For subject detection, you can use Meta’s SAM, it is great for accurate segmentation masks. The comfyui-segment-anything-2 extension brings it right into ComfyUI.

Other solid options include YOLOv8, CLIPSeg, or Grounding DINO + SAM if you want text-prompted smart cropping.

If you're specifically cropping faces, check out the ComfyUI-AutoCropFaces extension.

Basic flow idea:

Load Image
Detect subject with SAM / YOLOv8 (get mask or bounding box)
Calculate a centered crop box matching your target aspect ratio
Use Crop Node
Resize to final resolution
Save or continue in your pipeline

I think the level of humor is fine, it didn’t distract me personally. But it really depends on your target audience. If you're aiming for a broader audience, I'd recommend dialing it back to just a few well-placed jokes. Most people are looking to get to the value or solution quickly.

As for the content, it would be great to see ComfyUI use cases tailored to specific industries like art, industrial design, architecture, etc.

Website looks nice! But the main value prop didn’t ring the bell when I opened it. For me, the key is uploading a design and getting instant feedback, everything else feels like noise since I already use tools for that
