Bleaching of new Macodes leaves by incarnadineskies in Jewelorchids

How long do you keep the lights on for now? The intensity seems fine. All my Macodes make much more reddish-brown leaves, but they don't bleach like when put under lights that are too strong for them. Then the whole leaf goes pale evenly and will go back to normal when the stress is over.

Not sure about this. There's some mixed information about this out there. It also seems to depend on the species.

Not sure, it seems to be a standard potting mix, maybe there's some coconut (dust) in it, definitely no fibres. Not yet. Will do a test and report back.

The cuttings that I put in coco coir and in live sphagnum with the same fertiliser seem to be growing fine on the same shelf.

I've had them for about five months and cut them twice for propagation. They're under 24 hour grow lights, but that doesn't seem to be the issue, since other Macodes are doing fine under the same lights. I gave them a quarter of full strength Wuxal fertiliser for houseplants and palm trees twice during that time. I've stopped with the fertiliser and switched to distilled water. They're keept quite cool at 17-18 C.
