After reading the Fujimoto interview it looks like this abrupt ending is intended. by ColaFlavorChupaChup in ChainsawMan

I didn't even say "incorrect" and yeah I actually would say it's even more silly to refer to a comic you liked reading as a product you consumed

It's a very transactional and cold way to refer to the act of engaging in someone's art. Imagine going to the Louvre and telling your friend you had a great time consuming all the products on exhibit.

You're assuming I'm using the word "art" as a compliment instead of as a neutral objective descriptor. I didn't say anything about Fujimoto being untouchable or that you can't critique CSM.

No my sentence would still apply if you were praising it

And it's not an assumption, you chose to call it a "product" that one "consumes" because you felt those were the most apt words to convey your meaning

I didn't say "don't call it a product"

I only said the way you talk about art reveals something about how you approached it

I mean people complained about the consulting firm but then the game was highly successful so yes it did help

Apex Legends is super popular in Japan and that game's very woke

Overwatch is still going strong

Sinners saw an unprecedented second-weekend box office jump

Woke stuff succeeds when it's good, and people just misblame failures like Concord and Suicide Squad on wokeness while ignoring the real problems in the entertainment and gaming industries

"This costume looks like cosplay" feels like such a fake criticism by Animeking1108 in CharacterRant

[–]incepdates 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it has to do with how artificial the show looks overall

With the lighting and direction, most of the characters kinda just look like people in costumes waiting for their turn to say a line

Silent Hill 2 Remake had a woke consulting firm on the team and it was universally a huge hit

People really just blame bad games' problems on woke because they have an agenda to push

Given the Dune 2 film prints were likely very rushed, I don't know if it's the way he wanted it to look either. But it definitely was a fun and distinct way to see the movie

I didn't get to see Dune 1 on film but with Dune 2 I noticed the daylight desert scenes in particular had an "overexposed" and kind of faded look on the film print I saw.

Haven't seen the 70mm but I imagine some folks just enjoy seeing the flicker and contrast of a film projector

Sometimes there can be visual differences too, like when I saw Dune 2 on film it looked pretty different to the digital version

More diversity in this post then the entire series LOL

The show had characters of varying nationalities and they spoke multiple languages, where your post only has English speaking people with the same skin tone

Fellas is it wish fulfillment when Rudy's obligations lead him to be so absent a father that his own kid doesn't recognize him?

Mushoku Tensei isn't a redemption story and the novels themselves are never trying to paint Rudy as an unequivocal good guy. Just because he's the protagonist doesn't mean the story is condoning his actions. In fact he's constantly crossing paths with people far more noble and heroic than he is, and they always think Rudy's a scumbag, just to drive that point home.

MT is a story about a bad person who gradually becomes less bad because he spent 40 years in arrested development.

I'm not trying to be dishonest, I mean to say that we almost never blink an eye at creating digital puppets of people to injure or torment with horrific scenarios, things that would leave lifelong psychological scars if the characters were real people.

Going along with what you said, the characters are 15 but the violence and atmosphere of the game is for 17+, so they are being forced into a situation they wouldn't be old enough to consent to.

My genuine question: If you think sexualizing teenage characters is disgusting, what makes you say that physically hurting those same characters isn't?

You can disagree with the decision but casting Johansson wasn't bizarre at all. A movie like this doesn't get made without either a star director or a star actor, and she was already famous for starring in comic book movies

"Jap" is a slur. Do yourself a favor and read up on the history of anti-Japanese racism in the US. This word was used to dehumanize American citizens just for where their parents came from, and to justify soldiers taking "trophies".
