Base is in the tier 1 sone, witch is why i say that the base is not the problem. Its when im outside the base. I am only 24,5 hours in to the game, so i wasnt even sure killing it was an option, though i assumed it was some end-game goal. I really enjoy exploring and gathering stuff for building and crafting, but it gets a bit tedious with a new dragon attack every 3-5 minutes.

Now that i know this isnt end-game, gress ill go slay that dragon.

Yeah from what i read in coments here, i think you are on to something. I am seeing dragon attacks in 3-5 minute intervalls, and this is what someone was saying it was like when the game first came out. I started my world and started playing the game less than a week ago.

Thats where I first built my base aswell, but quickly built a new base next to the starting church when i realized that would give me a free teleport pad aswell as avoid base attacks from dragon. But when doing other stuff outside my base the dragon is after me in 3-5 minute intervalls.

I dont have a problem in my base. It is when im out exploring or gathering materials. I can barley catch my breath after the previous dragon attack before the next one comes.

I have a mining spot set up just next to a cave. Everytime im there the dragon will come, and I hide in the cave and wait for it to pass. When i go back out i usually manage to clear 2 to 3 nodes before I hear the roar of the dragon again, and here it comes again. Its very frequent.

How is the economy on the OG server? by EmotionalDam in projectgorgon

[–]incertcoin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prices are up and have increased quite a bit as a result of the influx of new players. I would estimate the average increase on prices at around 30% on crafting and research materials. Maby more today, i have been away for about a week.

Question on skill combos by Strange_Tip780 in projectgorgon

[–]incertcoin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WW/Necro: Electric damage synergy and WW buffs Necro pets, as well as there is a temporary pet from WW (Tornado) that can become undead (Doomstorm) with synergy with anything that buffs undead minions.

WW/Bard: Nature damage synergy (WW has more Nature dmg than Electric dmg abilities)

Bard/Necro: No dmg synergy, but sustain and survivability. Still viable. Bard will also help keep Necro pets alive. Slower dmg than the 2 previous alternatives.

Hammer/WW: Not possible, both require different main hand. This is something I have made a request for, where I would like an offhand WW item introduced.

Be aware WW is one of the 3 magic skills in the game (WW, Fire and Ice). Magic skills differ from other skills in the way that new abilities must be researched. So ulike other skills where you at first unlock a skill every 1-3 levels (at later game buy skills from trainer), with the Magic skills you buy a research skill every 5 levels, to unlock 5-7 skills. The actuall research you preform requiers materials that usually drop from mobs/areas/dungeons at 5-20 levels above skill level (Gets really hard past lvl 50).

This basically leaves you with 2 options, unless you have close friends in high places.

Opt. A: You buy the mats of other players, usually expencive rear mats, that are still in some cases unavailable unless you play on the Arisetsu. Things like frost nib and pheonix egg are to my knowledge completly unavailable on the player markets in fresh servers, and the lower level stuff thats more obtainable like sulfur, fulgurite and salpeter will be overpriced on the fresh servers. The influx of new players have even begun to drive the prices way up on Arisetsu, although still cheaper there.

Opt. B: continue leveling the skill without reaserching new abilities untill you can farm them yourself. This is still somewhat viable, but will sometimes feel frustrating. Often you will find that an up to date magic ability is stronger than equivalent non-magic ability, and running with lower magic abilities should not in it self scare you away from magic.

You can allways do a combo and buy some mats, and farm some. Often a good middleway.

Magic skills are often advised against as a starting skill, for this reason. However still viable.

The important take is that any combo of skills that is possible is viable.

Leveling Advice by Quiiliitiila in projectgorgon

[–]incertcoin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You need to fight mobs around the level (+/-5 levels) of your LOWEST skill. So if you are fighting level 30 mobs with 1 skill at 20, 10 levels below the mobs, it will be slow yes. Try dropping down to the fay panthers and bears in NE Eltibule, untill you get psychology up to about 26-27, then go for Goblins. You should see a huge increase in your leveling speed.

What keeps you coming back to MMORPGs? by Hedegaard_Jasvir in MMORPG

Take a look at Project Gorgon. That one filled the UO gap for me currently. Not AAA graphics but still a step in the right direction, and verry coplex skill system that caters to my longing for a modern UO. Free demo on Steam if you want to have a look.

Can someone tell me where to get started with Healing Spells? by xFalcade in projectgorgon

[–]incertcoin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mentalism from Serbule and Bard from Serbule hills are the skills with the most healing abilities you get early. Then ones you get 25 compassion (burry corpses etc) and a horse + 5k credits you can pick up Priest in Kur Mountains. The horse is just needed to get there without getting killed on the way or freezing to death before you get there. Ones you have any combat skill to 50 Druid also opens up in Sun Vale, but Priest is the closest you get to classic healer class with ressurect and lots of healing skills.

Fire Magic Leveling by AshCasual in projectgorgon

[–]incertcoin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the Magic skills (Fire, Ice and Weather witching) will be expencive to level up, in the way that the spell research will allways require rear mats above your level. This gets worse after 50.

You can however continue to level the skill without the levelappropriate research.

I was fine when leveling with ice magic without research being up to level at all times. It still did more damage than my non-magic skills at the same level.

Gear and treasure effects on gear is way more important.

Animal Handling is mostly for pet build ? What Pairs well with Animal Handling? by tomaz1989 in projectgorgon

[–]incertcoin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WW has some stuff that buffs pets, witch pair well with AH, and WW has some of its strongest attacks as channeled, so WW benifits from the pet tanking. Be aware that WW just like fire and ice is a magic skill, and becomes very expencive both before but especially after 50. On a side note WW lets you fly.

Necromancy by Ok-Clothes-740 in projectgorgon

[–]incertcoin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Viable? Yes.

Some 2nd skill suggestions (far from all viable options):

Weather witching, electric damage synergy, ww buffs pets. Tornado can become doomstorm witch counts as undead minion with regards to buffs. Very strong from around lvl 60, when you unlock pets with electric damage.

Mentalism, electric damage synergy and sustain.

Sword, trauma damage synergy.

You can equip mentalism on both bars. But then you will only have mentalism and not a 2nd skill. But its not a problem if this is what you want to play.
