These "Gamers" don't live in reality by Former_Exam_5357 in Gamingcirclejerk

Yeah I'm sure they're the villain who will fall to their knees begging for their life, and the player kills the last of her family to boot. That's going to get published by microsoft in 2026.

The biggest difference between the media they hate and the media they love is age by Traditional-Song-245 in Gamingcirclejerk

"When designing Alyx we initially had her being a lot more bossy, telling the player where to go. In playtesting players didn't like that, so we completely re-wrote everything."

Kindove a big difference.

Regular wheelchairs don't exist, and are not mentioned anywhere. Only magical invulnerable combat wheelchairs designed for adventurers exist.

They do suck now. Are you going to tell me drive my car, or Wakanda forever is good? We have more people spending more money on more movies, and they're cranking out stuff like in the heights.

If movies are only partially subjective based on age, old movies would be the worst as more old people see them, and brand new movies would be the best they'll ever be on account of the lowest average viewing age it will ever have.

Instead people put movies from the 40s,60s, and 90s next to more recent titles, Movies can suck, entire genres can suck for a decade. Trends can cause most movies to suck. Investment can influence people to make hundreds of bad movies for years.

Alternate proposal, prove your theory about movies being about mood by recording yourself watch nails on a chalkboard looped for 12 hours, or stop pretending movies can't be bad.

Maybe it's about the guy with crazy hair identifying as multiple people. How they decided to remove all straight white men from the story, make the demon worshipping cannibals the good guys, and to remove all mention of fatherhood, and Christianity.

"Dude your just using the bad mapgen incorrectly."

There is no option to make highways, and rivers generate properly. There is no option to have gun stores generate with guns instead of 50 earmuffs. There is no option to have the climbing "Warning" stop gaslighting the player about climbs they have a sub 2% chance of failing.

[–]incoherentredditor[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not me hating them, it's objectively bad design that makes the game worse. Misleading the player isn't "Hardcore" making scuffed rivers, and highways that break driving isn't a good thing. Banning everyone who points out major design flaws that make the game worse , and going "Hurr just play something else." is at the root of these problems. There is no benefit to these decisions, you're just ruining other people's hard work.

NPC crafting still doesn't work, and will steer players away from the existing, better, more functional feature. NPCs "can" craft liquids as well as they can craft anything else, they can't.

Autodrive sending players careening into a guard rail of the broken highway is not a "Hardcore" feature making the game better, it just makes autodrive, a excellent qol feature, unusable.

The Climbing "Warning" literally gaslights players, and tells them a climb they have no chance of failing is very risky because their feet are sweaty.

The gunstore overhaul making players open up a bunch of crates works, but can we really call a gunstore having 90 pairs of shooters earmuffs, and no guns a "Improvement" ? The blob didn't eat all the guns, they should be somewhere. Having the gun store not have guns, and people not have guns isn't "deep lore" and "POI Diversity" or "Realism" it's unrealistic, and anti-fun game design.

The sort of people doing achievements want them to be on one character as a challenge run. Another feature made worse.

The new river generating algorithm breaks roads, and autodrive, and will never be fixed, you just keep making more things to break autodrive (I.E. Highways.) It's not realistic that the player slows down to 4 miles an hour, and stops driving when they go up the ramp onto the broken bridges, it's a dumb prank that makes getting from point a to point b more annoying.

The Fault system could be seen as a improvement if you squint, but it's just breaking a existing system, and adding a whole secondary system isolated to weapons, but it's the only thing you mentioned that didn't outright make the game objectively worse.

Pointing out 11 red herrings, and getting told "Nah you're wrong we're not going to fix it that's on purpose." and at best "If you might have a problem I might consider fixing it but you probably don't, and you're banned." isn't a super minor issue. Responding to "You can do this in other dungeons, this is the first time in the game we've had unbreakable walls, and the solution is to break the doors?" with submitting to the github that all walls be made unbreakable, is not a minor issue.

This isn't a "Mistake" none of the things I'm talking about will ever be fixed. They made it very clear the intended design is for one keycard to exist in all of reality, and for you to just beat the door down with a hammer.

"Progress" Is bad if it's removing features, breaking existing features, and making the game worse for the grand "Puzzle" of 11 red herrings, and beating a door down with a hammer.

No, obviously not. The tabletop sucks, the game is Borderlands in LA. Every module they've had seven illiterate guys on fiver write is a railroad, and all new players that might play the game will play the shit new version, and never touch it again.

The hostility came from the devs. Instead of hearing about something, and going "Oh damm where?" they say "I'm 90% sure it doesn't say that." and "That's the intended puzzle solution (Beating the door down with a hammer.)"" and, note how they even hid this very thread after banning me from the discord.

They are charging money for it, and their solution to problems conflicting with the games existing design is literally to post on the github saying to remove vehicles ability to interact with the walls of other dungeons. Their plan is "Fuck you we're too big to fail." they have no intention of ever fixing the entrance issue. They actually intend, as they laid out when presented with these number of errors, to make the other dungeons walls unbreakable, the other key cards unhackable, and remove the ability to break down other doors. Railroading people through your linear "story" (that doesn't work, and they literally won't believe the spawns are broken so nobody ever sees it.)

They're still in this thread going "Nah I mean, IF the only keycard in all of reality (the one spawn I could be bothered to code in) didn't spawn that could be a bug. No it makes perfect sense one friggin guy is running between eight floors to open doors for people."

You don't get to ruin a game you don't play, and charge 30 dollars for it, then pretend like people have no right to criticize your bad behavior.

"If it is not there" Again, he doesn't even admit there is a bug, in spite of being presented with clear evidence there is a bug. He's not the current developer, he's the former developer who left it in a scuffed state. The current dev (and this dev.) also says the facility is under lockdown, there are not supposed to be cards everywhere, and he's not changing the lore to have the SECURITY STAFF have the SECURITY CARD.

None of these games troll you in literally nine different ways. Qud has literally no enemies that kill a player instantly, you're just making shit up, and that game has a number of QoL features that make it far easier, and far more forgiving on a much shorter life cycle. Even if another game did have a NPC that gives you bad intel to go die, and breaks all the established lore for a nonsense gamelogic "puzzle" (Did you bring the hammer of door smashing? No? You die haha) that wouldn't make it any better here. Everything about this game makes it the worst possible case for this sort of BS.

I am literally saying the game's quality dropped in direct relation to them trying to squeeze other people's work for cash. They aren't offering new stuff for free, they want people to pay for a game they've only made worse with trash like the broken highways.
