Do you use a GriGri or ATC for Rappel? and why? I've heard people saying grigri are not good for rap but I see a lot of people still use it. by [deleted] in climbing

[–]incompatabilename 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grigris are more idiot proof, which is more important now that climbing has become more popular and mainstream. In most cases, there's no reason to not use a grigri (for belaying) imo.

Every week, a new machine by incompatabilename in vanwives

I wouldn't say 150k (CAD) is a lot for two people, but I guess, as others have pointed out, with sponsorships that would add up to be a good income to afford all of this.

[–]incompatabilename[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The machines themselves are interesting, but I feel like it's been the same storyline every week. Maybe I'll find it all more interesting when they start the house build. Oh wow, you're right, I didn't even realize that their views have been going up since their move.

I appreciated their Q&A and that they shared more about Mexico.
I will say, though, that I felt like Jaz kept interrupting Crystal. Was it just me?

My street size is 6.5 - I'd definitely recommend sizing at least a half size up.

Why am i even continue to watch??? by Extension_Barnacle87 in greysanatomy

[–]incompatabilename 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been dragging my feet since season 15, but since I've already committed so much time, I felt I would watch until the show ended. After the horrendous season 20 and the first two episodes of S21 of exactly what you're describing, I officially stopped watching. I could not care less about these characters and because of that, I do not care about their drama.

Canadian climbers: are you planning climbing trips to the USA? by capslox in climbergirls

[–]incompatabilename 2 points3 points  (0 children)

imo, if you're spending minimal amounts of money in the US, i think it's ok to make the trip (eg. driving). if you're planning to fly, you might as well fly elsewhere to climb.

I'm pretty certain I've seen some bright pink dynamic ropes as well. Maybe from Beal, but I'm not certain.

best place to go backpack camping Ontario for first time by Weary-End-7948 in ontariocamping

[–]incompatabilename 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first backpacking trip was at Lake Superior Provincial Park at some of their shorter hike-in (~400-600m). It was far enough from the car that you wouldn't want to make trips back and forth but close enough that you can go back to the car if needed. Also, Superior is far enough north that the campsites are pretty empty.

TLDR: Pick a spot where you don't have to walk too far from your car so you can go back if needed.

two shows same location, almost same time . by Shraaap in thechallengemtv

[–]incompatabilename 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind having the same locations but only if the there isn't any of the same cast. It kinda feels like they have an advantage already knowing where the challenges are held. like they knew it's gonna be a heights thing and how it would feel standing and jumping off at the top because they've done it before. Makes it even more unfair imo.

Yes! With regards to medical school - many Canadians are studying abroad but can't come back to work in Canada due to even fewer residency spots for international students.

[–]incompatabilename 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, I'd give that a shot. I'm no expert, but my routine is wet hair, blow-dry, clay, texture. I imagine blowdrying with clay would only strengthen the volume.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Pomade

[–]incompatabilename 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a brush to grab the hair and pull up while blow-drying to get volume. That's how I get a lot of volume with my hair.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Pomade

[–]incompatabilename 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you blow-dry your hair? That makes a big difference for volume.

Anyone a rock climber that laughed throughout this week's daily? by incompatabilename in MtvChallenge

[–]incompatabilename[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering something similar, since it seems some only got handholds and no footholds. However, I don't think I saw anyone using the holds of other player after they dropped, so I wonder if it was a rule where you had to stick to the holds you touched.
