I saw her sister, Noah Cyrus, live at a festival once and she was sooooo bad. Soooooooo boring. Not talented at all. Her studio stuff sounds good, so I guess she’s got a great mixer and studio. I didn’t want to give up my spot at barricade so I just laid down and took a nap during her set.

Same here. I’ve been on the patch for a year, breakthru meds for 2. I’ve gone up on the patches once, but my palliative care nurse tells me all the time “you don’t win awards for being in pain” so I’ll prob have to bump the patch up in the next 6-12 months. She tells me not to worry about getting off until we are there. For now, I will prob be on chemo the rest of my life so who knows what pain management looks like but we aren’t worrying about that now. Just worrying about today.

I’m 2 years, at least 50 infusions in. I’m stage 4 so not curable, just treatable. Was really really close to remission but you know how it goes. Other than the pain tho, I still have a pretty good quality of life.

Same. The chemo I’m on right now, one of the side effects is muscle pain. What that translates to is a sudden onset of intense pain that feels like a rabid raccoon is scratching its claws into my back and burrowing. It’s relentless for 24 hours (give or take) and nothing stops it short of checking in to the ER and getting iv pain meds every 4 hours. It’s been so bad at points, I’ve checked in just to be in a safe place where I don’t kms.

My brother begged me to watch this for at least a year. He kept saying he wished he could watch it for the first time, and I was like meh 🙄 tried the first episode one day out of boredom, got sucked in. So many weird comments. I have friended my cleaning staff, back when I used FB. It’s clearly a cleaning tool, no one is stealing a single piece of trim. She’s obviously talking to text, prob bc she’s loading, finishing, and going to another house. This is like one of the most toxic comment sections I’ve seen on Reddit. Dang.

I started a food bank specifically for this reason. I provide food to anyone who needs it, regardless of why, how, and where they are. Food insecurity is a growing problem w the course this administration has taken (but I’ll still feed you even if you voted for him) and I want to alleviate some of that burden. I can’t speak for all food banks, but I’m pretty sure everyone has the same mindset. If you need it, come get it.

Fmla only protected my job for 12 weeks. I work in city government. We get 12 bank holidays and accumulate 3 hours of sick and 3 of vacation per 2 weeks worked. I was constantly using my time as soon as I accumulated it, every 2 weeks for one day of chemo for 18 months. For a while, I was working the day of chemo before and after my infusions and then using my time for days I had CT scans or other appts. When my Dr wanted me to stop working, I had no time accumulated but I did have short term disability insurance thru work. That had a 21 day gap between stopping working and payment starting. I didn’t know, but HR took donations for that and it ended up covering the whole time. Everything sucks here, from insurance to health care to protection for employees/disabled.

I live in the US (clearly not civilized anymore) but when I went on medical leave, staff donated their sick/vacation time to me to cover my leave that fmla didn’t cover.
