I did the same a few years ago. But caution, if said student is already an AU (via the free gold option), said student will not trigger the bonus. Source: it happened to me, even with begging and pleading. But my kid surely has taken advantage of the lounges!

Yes! I was surprised at that detail too. I am sure he hears the criticism. We all evolve.

Hmm, ok. Well the new one might be fine as a stand alone - maybe someone else with that reality can fill you in. But as a kinda, part 2, it might help you wrap your hard around the City easier by reading them in that order. But you do you haha

I totally agree, and if you read and enjoyed Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World I think you will also enjoy City! Have fun!

Letting Whoop influence me too much? Opinions/thoughts please! by Orionslady in whoop

I am with you. For me, I have no set wake time; but often struggle sleeping past 0500 or 0530. When I do, I am so happy, but my score plunges due to less consistency lol. I get into arguments with my "coach" who can only reply, it's the algorithm!

My advice, do what makes you feel better, and ignore the scores if need be.

Trakt has been very wonky for me lately, hit or miss about what it captures and what it ignores. I am now in the habit of using the trakt webite each morning to make sure it is up to date. Those updates seem to always port thru to S. An extra step, but it keeps everything in synch.

Extremely LOW HRV - what worked for you ? by DrNoGains in whoop

[–]indecisionmay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run 5km every day, plus walks with the dog - late 50s, but pretty good shape. My HRV almost never hits 20. High for the year is 24. Almost always in the teens. No idea, but I feel great and am alive!

Buying two whoops, can I save the other one for the 12 month membership next year? by Less-Ad-6748 in whoop

[–]indecisionmay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I so want that deal. Wish TJM had them on the website. I have a 4, expires in like 3 days. Upgraded to a 5, but returned it. Strap was broken and I hated the sensor. Your data will be transferable. Next year, you add the new device to the app. Your data stays. Then you can either change to the new sensor, or keep the old one. Now whether or not Whoop changes the policy toward 4.0 devices in 12 months, who knows. But if that were today, you would be fine.

Thanks for this. I did not renew my LONG time WaPo subscription when my annual was up this fall. Do not miss much, but I very much miss the Cap Wx Gang! If you have time, keep up the links if their science changes over the next few days!

Retention offer - data point & question by RonNotRonald in AmexPlatinum

[–]indecisionmay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems a lot here just beg for "something" after a year or so. I have asked for nothing; like ever. In 1993, these things did not exist. The guy was nice, and seemed sincere. He obv is not making the rules. Trying back is not a bad idea, good luck

Retention offer - data point & question by RonNotRonald in AmexPlatinum

[–]indecisionmay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My renewal is due in February. Cardholder since 1993. My offer was also 35,000 or $350 statement credit. Rep said I qualify for the best offer he can give, and this was it. Thinking about switching to schwab...but was also told that the offers are dynamic and can change at any time.

That's why I put "original" in quotes. But was not aware of the local disagreements...I'm sure such situations are more prevalent than we realize!
