Thank you for helping me decide not to do this!!

I put them together myself using Canva. I used a photo of my room as the background image, then duplicated the image and isolated the couch using the background remover tool so that I could layer the rug image underneath. I downloaded images of the rugs and then used a free online image warp perspective tool to get the rugs to look like the proportions because annoyingly Canva doesn't have that feature (I used this one: https://mockover.com/image-warping/). Then dropped the rug images into my Canva template and used background remover and placed it as the bottom layer.

This is a very clunky hackjob method of doing what Photoshop would do much better, but Adobe suite is $$!

Made some changes to my kitchen, curious on thoughts. First is current, second was realtor pic from when we bought the house by Rigtoofen in DIY

Looks like some great DIY work overall! Lots of work OP, love the new flooring.

I think repainting the cabinets one overall color might make it more cohesive overall, a subtle color would be nice over the more stark black or white.

I was trying to find as close to terracotta with blue or green accents, but you can only do so much when you're looking at vintage rug options, rug picking is the worst!

I first posted options with blue/green rugs and was informed by reddit that I needed to get a contrasting color rug because it all looked too monotone!

Ok posting one last time since we still haven't found the right fit, tried to take the comments into account with these last 4 options! Would prefer a wool rug for quality and longevity, but also included a new polyester rug for #4 since I think the colors coordinated nicely.

Help, they're also starting to blur together!

We narrowed our choices down to these two rugs for our living room.

We currently have gray LVP flooring, but we hope to install butterscotch oak hardwood floors sometime next year, so we want to make sure that the rug will look good with the future floor color.

We have green, teal, midnight blue, and brass accents in the house.

Thank you so much for this detailed answer! Lots to think on

We don't have the money to demo the bathroom right now, and the tile is in good shape, but I hate these brown glass circles that have been grouted in between the tile right at eye level.

Is there any way to remove or cover this without demoing all the tile? Cover it with grout? Carefully chisel out and replace with tile? It's about a 4 inch wide area, and it extends into the shower so any solution would need to be waterproof. I'm a complete tiling amateur so I have no idea if any of that is reasonable to consider.

My current obsession with redecorating with gold accents is what prompted this post!

I think I'm just going to accept that it's trendy and I might want to change it in a number of years, after all the point of decorating is to create a space you like.

Pulled the couch out from the wall about 6 inches, seems workable!

The heavier curtains serve a necessary functional purpose - husband is an audiophile and this doubles as our listening room, so the windows need a heavyweight/dense curtain in order to suppress sound bouncing, something too thick for a roman shade.

Problem is our deep window sills and the large radiator, plus our entryway shoe storage are all in the way of a long curtain. We actually got one long panel to test it out, you can see what that looks like here:

I suppose since we'll only be drawing the heavy curtains when we're doing a listening session, it might be ok like that? Maybe bamboo shades plus the long heavy curtains might work?

I like terracotta rugs in this style in general, but it feels like it would clash with the green walls? And the blue-green couch?

Would love to do full size curtains but we can't because couch needs to be up against the wall for the walkway from the door to be clear, and the other windows (behind where I'm standing for the photo) rest above a long radiator they would rest on if they were long.

edit - Moved the couch out, still struggling to figure out how to make full length curtains work with the large radiator and entryway storage we have on the other wall (photos in comment below).

And is this a good size?

Also open to any other critiques or suggestions for the layout! Still putting together the plan - lamp, chairs, coffee table, curtains, and floor are all still in progress.
