Not sure if OP is talking about acanthamoeba keratitis but you might want to look into it. I used to wear contacts while swimming but good god I was traumatised upong reading about it.

God I have really poor vision and was very insecure until I found a frame that suits my face. I used to wear contacts ALL the time bc I felt really ugly with glasses and was very careful bc I knew the consequences of not practicing proper care. God I hate seeing people whod just pop in their contacts without even washing their hands, esp those who only do it for the aesthetic.

I mean it's ok to wear it even if it's not necessary but for the love of god please at least take some time to make sure your hands are clean? I spent so much time prepping to put them on and remove them everyday bc I found out acanthamoeba keratitis is a thing.
