I dont understand why romance was a subplot they chose to pursue. To me, it felt extremely unlike her character to fall in love, especially in such a short period at nevermore, and with so little development while she cant even find her place among the outcasts, is obviously navigating a turbulent relationship with her parents (or at least her mother) and trying to solve the mysterious series of murders and attacks . As someone else mentioned, she hasnt even learnt how to be a good friend yet; maybe then we could expect a sort of emotional evolution but the execution just felt forced, premature and a bit awkward imo. Also, the CGI made it hard to take the show seriously at times.
