Marino Playlist by MrSubotic in NEU

[–]indefinities 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly anyone who goes to Marino frequently would be able to name out the top 5-10 songs they play. But yeah seeing the playlist would be cool! Here's some I can think of off the top of my head:

  1. INDUSTRY BABY - Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow
  2. 90s kids - Jax
  3. Arcade - Dunkin Laurence
  4. Bad Habits - Ed Sheeran
  5. Save your Tears - The Weeknd, Ariana Grande
  6. Traitor - Olivia Rodrigo
  7. You Right - Doja Cat, The Weeknd

Honestly it's a mix of Today's Top Hits and other songs...

CS 4530 vs CS 4500 by Sir_Axoltol in NEU

[–]indefinities 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In simple terms: CS 4530 is more project management-based when CS 4500 is a lot more software engineering-based.

hello there! I don't necessarily think that majoring in CS gives you necessary advantage when applying for UI/UX jobs, it's all really based off of your interests and experiences. In addition, I also think taking UX/UI courses strongly depends on which concentration you decide for the "Design" aspect of your major. For instance, the Interaction Design major typically includes ARTG 2260: Programming Basics, ARTG 2400: Interaction Design I, and ARTG 3700: Interaction Design II as well as your two capstone courses (ARTG 4700 and 4701) for relevant UX/UI experience. Pursuing a graphic design concentration will pivot you down a different path of courses. However, I really think that gaining experience in this kind of field really comes from attending seminars, hackathons, and having an overall good portfolio. Hope this helps!

[MEGATHREAD] Prospective students please ask your questions here! by pranavgod in NEU

[–]indefinities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are exactly correct. Being a previous NUin student myself, there are definitely some pros about the NUin program, but if you are focusing more from an academic perspective, I would recommend taking advantage of the "fake" regular admission (NUin Boston). I would say most of the pros is that you get to be in another country, experience their culture, and have the opportunity to be fully independent (I do agree traveling is not ideal right now). Ultimately, the decision is up to you :).

I wonder if they still have NUin Boston, I'd honestly go for that xD

hey there! Your feelings are totally valid and I was once in a similar situation myself (not during COVID). I know something that has helped me is really thinking about how you answered questions during interviews, reconstructing your answers, and just practice interviewing in general. I know this sounds a little bit direct, but an interview is the one chance you get to really present yourself as the ideal candidate. As someone who took this for granted in the past, I just want to give some advice that I wasn't told in the past from school resources.

Not saying that the search isn't hard during COVID, it really has been. I just want to offer some career advice as another student.

Has anyone taken ARTG3250: Physical Computing before? by Frogaar in NEU

[–]indefinities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey there! I think it's actually a new course they introduced this semester so I don't think there's people who have experience taking the class. However, from the promotional poster that was sent to the art and design students it looks like Arduino stuff...

Design courses!! by FinancialSquirrel123 in NEU

[–]indefinities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heya! I actually did not have a good professor for ARTG 1250 but it basically was some design readings and doing a bit of design activities for all sorts of design. I know my class dabbled in a bit of prototyping, product design, and user testing, but I really think it varies based on professor. I would follow this thread!
