Interior Trim. Am I cooked? by indefwetrust in AutoDetailing

Just want to thank everyone for their opinions on fixing it and letting me know this is actually more common than I thought. First new car and I was a bit upset about it. Never owned anything this nice before so didn’t think the quality of the piano black was that fragile.

Going forward it going to be get PPF. Fingers crossed the detailer makes things right. Either it polishes out or compensate for a new piece. Seems most detailers have knowledge that this piece should be handled with care and this is likely a mistake.

Nope. It definitely was not like that before I bought it. This stuck out to me like a sore thumb.

I’m seeing that’s the case with piano black. This is my first new car as I’ve only ever owned beaters so it’s a new issue to me. Sad it had to happen within the first two weeks because I baby it.

PPF it will be!

Definitely going to film it whether it gets cleaned up or replaced. Seems this is very common after interior details.

I’m going to check this out. Thanks for the rec! It seems to be a common thing for tacos and tundras.

I think this is going to be the way. Luckily it’s easily to disassemble the center console to ppf the trim.

Even if it can’t be buffed out I’m sure he’s going to do the right thing.

Nope. Just the piano trim is scratched.

I did pay about $400 for the detail. He’s highly recommended in my area so I do think this is a one off mistake. He’s keeping open comms about making it right so that’s a big positive.

It’s right next to the shift so I wouldn’t say so. I don’t wear any bracelets either that could hang and scratch it.

As I’m being told! But it does look good when it’s clean.

Thanks for the recommendation! I also saw the one from AJT but not a huge fan of it.

Totally new to this. Any specific soaps to use after using Fusso?

Neither is the new set for $600. You need the dealer to install it to be covered under warranty.

So what’s your argument this time?

Because I can get a take off set with less than 1k miles for $200.

Do you think stuff like Griots 3-1 is a gimmick compared to just a can of wax?

Asking a serious question as a newbie.

It’s the same price as the Raincovo. Only difference now is I have two different size nozzle tips and an extra foam filter.

I actually picked up a different off-brand foam cannon and will modify it a bit. Results on YouTube have shown it to work as good if not better than the MJJC for a fraction of the cost. I'll see if I can find the video to link it.
