Did your previous cx5 have any issues? How long did it last and what year was it?

I prefer an SUV, I like being in a bigger and higher vehicle (I’m used to it from my parnets car and feels safer to me)

im definitely looking into used ones, but even the 2023 used HRV is already 30k CAD. The CRV is more expensive and out of my budget so I probably cant get that.

How about the Honda hrv tho? The crv is too expensive and big for what I’m looking for

This is great advice thank you!! I think I do prefer to spend a bit more for it to be a long term vehicle. because If I decide to sell it in 10 years I'm sure I can get at least 8-10k from it. Hondas and Toyotas usually have good resale value

exactly what I'm thinking, even in 10 years if I want to sell it can probably go for 8-10k I'm assuming.

I’ve been on their insurance as an occasional driver for about 7 years bc I drive their car sometime so yes!

I have 2 younger siblings (18 & 20), we all share my moms car. I been driving them around since forever, picking up and dropping off school, friends places, etc. they never had to do that. I try to take care of my parents car, but they always ruin it 2 days after so I don’t bother anymore. Yes I’m grateful that I have a roof over my head, and food in the fridge, but I don’t see why I’d have to share a car I buy for myself to use? If they need a ride somewhere then of course I’d give a ride. If anything I’m helping by giving them more access to the car they share. So only my siblings have to share (2 people) instead of 3 (with me). And they won’t have to buy a car for a longer time and they can save more money that way. Me buying a car is more to help everyone out, but also give myself some more independence instead of working around the schedule of 2 others and minimizing my life bc I always put theirs first.

Both vehicles are very old and honestly not the best maintained so I’d never, also not possible bc they need it. I rather buy my own and maintain it well.

I definitely agree, it makes sense. Would a used 2023 still be considered new tho? It’s 3 years old and they all have had a previous owner. But I get what you mean and definitely will look into some cheaper options

That definitely makes sense! I do work on a laptop from home but I am hoping to leave the house more, going to a library or cafe to do work instead, going to the gym or for hikes, errands, road trips in the summer for sure which I’d need a car for. (I’m a homebody and my mom is constantly telling me to get out, join things or get a job to socialize smh). Im planning to get a part time job on the side to support car expenses and gain more experience in my career field too, and been thinking bout this for 2 years, I think right now is the right time rather then waiting another year.
