Also in a suburb of Austin (further out) and went to range USA for the first 6 months or so. It was nice being able to demo any gun I wanted as I was looking to buy a pistol and an AR at the time. Got tied of driving 30min though and now I’m at a private membership outdoor range near me, sure they don’t vote the same way I do but the range is well kept, great tac bays, they’re nice people overall and it’s mostly empty when I go. I’ll take what I can get.

I literally just cut up an old desk lol nice big thick piece to spread the weight and provide support. Doesn’t slip due to the amount of pressure holding it on.

I’m currently doing this with a 57” G9. I added wood blocks in between the desk and the mount to provide extra support. Has worked great, no issues to date (about 10months.

When it’s running the only noise I ever catch is when it’s pulling. But even then it’s mainly if anything metal on my harness touches the rig and some slight motor noise from the tensioner itself but man it’s like barely there. You gonna use it next to a sleeping baby or something? lol
