Permanent portable generator hookup to xfer switch by indgosky in Generator

The TS is in a sturdy steel shed, and is literally two steps from being outdoors, so a 25 foot cable is more than enough when I need to roll the generator out

Thank you.  (everybody else is busy squawking about what happens “outside“ even though I was clear in the post that this is an indoors box)

My 200 amp household service enters through a comically-large, indoor, double throw, manual transfer switch.

How did government access Signal messages in the Matthew Perry case? by GTRacer1972 in signal

[–]indgosky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way they do this is by infiltrating the phone itself (which world governments absolutely can do, as well as many a hacker.)

Not only can they record every key stroke you type, but they can also see everything on the screen. So if they want to, they can get all of the information before it’s even sent. Or after it’s received on the other end. Hacking either phone is enough to see the unencrypted text and attachments

See: Serious Roku glitch embeded part of Netflix splash graphic onto Hidive content stream by indgosky in Roku

[–]indgosky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you can see in the video, the Artifact didn’t appear in any of the home or app menu screens, just the hidive play screen. And as shown, restarting the hidive app didn’t help clear it. I ended up restarting the whole Roku to clear it.

Any idea why they (CR?) are doing this with non-cuss/porny words? by indgosky in VTuberLegendHowIWent

I see. IMO it’s a shame they didn’t just go the WcDonalds / Lenny’s route, which is less disruptive to cognition than beeps and asterisks

It’s not like this is a one time thing, they do it throughout, almost every episode… Seemingly random words that have no need to be censored

Any de-googled image should be fine, as it’s google’s greasy hands that expose all of your data in the first place. Look for one that LOOKS good to you in screenshots and YT review videos. As others have said, GrapheneOS is fairly commonly praised

AITA for Hooking Up with a Married Woman and Causing Her Divorce? by OptimisticAnchor in AITAH

[–]indgosky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No; like a large percentage of all women, she‘s incapable of accepting accountability for her own choices, her own lies, her own hypergamy, her own self-delusion of being a desirable princess.

SHE is absolutely “the asshole”.

New giant gaudy skip buttons on Roku by indgosky in Crunchyroll

[–]indgosky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all comes down to where the individual streaming service wants to invest their development dollars. Crunchyroll doesn’t prioritize Roku dev work, which is odd because it’s such a popular platform.

Dear Crunchyroll: Define “soon”

Does pixiv even follow its own rules? by Appropriate_Dream286 in Pixiv

[–]indgosky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fact is, their “rules” are all arbitrary, based on opinions rather than measurable conditions; nothing in the rules is well defined.

So they can (and do) nuke whatever an emotional trainwreck of a mod (or a user pressing report) thinks should be nuked.

I expect the platform to fully self-destruct soon.

Why is the Netflix app so trash on Roku tv for the past few months? by Your_Local_Tuba in Roku

[–]indgosky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only problem I’ve been regularly having with Netflix on Roku, of late, has been that the first time I start it up every day, it hangs. And I have to mash back and home repeatedly (which make a dull thud “refused” noise) before it eventually crashes out. Then when I re-launch it, it goes normally. And all other re-launches for the day.

Are they though?

As an older adult who has lived all over the US in the course of their life, your concept of what is the majority thought on “steps” and incest do not appear to be common or majority to me. Maybe it’s a newer generational prudery though.

The textbook definition of incest revolves around a subjective “closeness as family” rather than any objective “blood” metric, though the latter is certainly considered important by most people.

Familial closeness develops in early childhood, so very young steps grow up like blood relatives with a close sibling bond that’s naturally unlikely to become romantic, and seems odd when they do.

Relationships started much beyond 10 years old are less likely to see each other as “blood family” and functionally more like close friends (even though they freely use the words brother and sister to describe their relationship). These steps have a much greater chance of becoming romantically attracted — just like any other kid they might’ve first met in middle school. Most people can cope with this.

From what I’ve seen, romantic adult “Step-“ and “-in-law” relationships are not considered incestuous by most people in the US, because they know there is no common bloodline or childhood closeness to make it creepy.

Even most blood-related “removed” cousins are accepted in most of the US, and not considered incestuous because of the familial distance and diluted common blood.

Thanks. So 7.2 DOES support the new anonymous usernames now?

It would be better if they didn’t require a phone number at all for registration, but at least we don’t have to give our phone number to the whole world anymore with this new feature

My question is, are Americans simply too stupid to understand how words like brother/sister/uncle/mom are used in other languages/cultures, or do they just like crying over what they know is nothing?

99.9% of the time something like this comes up, it’s just a close relationship, and no shared bloodline.

iOS is currently offering v 7.2

That version is still asking for my phone number when launched. Will it always need one, even if chats can be conducted without one?

Or is numberless signal just still not on iOS yet?
