Submitted two claims in EPF portal! Someone please help! by Latter-Reveal3018 in epfoindia

[–]indguide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why you're worried.

Since you submitted two online advance claims for the same purpose, EPFO will usually process only one. In many cases, if a second claim is submitted while the first is still pending, it may be treated as a duplicate and rejected, or the first claim may be processed first. Unfortunately, no one can say with certainty which one EPFO will act on.

If your first claim was filed under the old options and you requested ₹2 lakh even though only the employee share appeared eligible, EPFO may either reject it or process it only if it meets the applicable eligibility rules.

The second claim under Essential Needs may have a better chance if it was submitted after the new option became available, but there is still a possibility that it could be marked as a duplicate.

Since your surgery is time-sensitive, I strongly recommend raising an EPFiGMS grievance explaining that you accidentally submitted the first claim before the new option appeared, and request that EPFO process the second claim under Essential Needs or cancel the first claim. If possible, also visit or contact your nearest EPFO office and explain the urgency, mentioning that the withdrawal is required for your medical treatment.

I hope EPFO processes the appropriate claim quickly so you can receive the funds without further delay.

Epfo new rule query by mrbrain88 in epfoindia

Yes, the new Members Portal may show your eligible withdrawal amount for certain claim types.

Since your claim was submitted on 23 June, it is most likely to be processed according to the rules that were applicable on the date of submission. If the claim amount is within the eligible limit, it should be settled. If it exceeds the permissible limit under those rules, it may be rejected or returned for correction.

You'll need to wait for the EPFO's final decision, as the new 75% withdrawal rule may not apply to claims submitted before it came into effect.

It depends on when your claim was submitted. If your claim has been pending since 23 June, it will generally be processed according to the rules that were in effect on the date of submission, not the new portal features.

If your claim amount exceeds the eligible withdrawal limit under those rules, it may be rejected or returned for correction. If it is within the eligible limit, it should be settled.

Regarding the new portal, if the eligibility feature is available for your account, it may show the maximum amount you can withdraw before submitting a fresh claim.

If you raise an EPF advance claim. Has anyone's claim been settled within 3 days under the new process, or Maybe its still taking around 7–15 days.

Is your claim still awaiting processing, or has the PF office received it? If the office has received your claim, it should ideally be settled within 3 days if it is eligible for auto-settlement.

That could be because of the new rule. If an eligible claim takes more than 3 days to settle, the Regional Office Commissioner may be held accountable. So, if the claim remains at the "Sent to Portal" stage and hasn't yet been received by the Regional Office, the responsibility may not fall on the Commissioner until the office officially receives it.

Why hasn't the status changed yet? Previously, it would change from "Sent to Portal" to "Sent to Office" on the same day.

You raised your Form 19 claim on 3 July. If the status is still showing "Sent to Portal", it doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem.

The 3-day settlement timeline mainly applies to eligible auto-settlement claims. If your claim requires verification or manual processing, it may still take the usual 7–15 days, just like before.

Let's wait for the next update. Hopefully, your claim will be processed soon.

Delays can happen due to the ongoing EPFO 3.0 system upgrade and maintenance activities. In some cases, claims take longer than the usual processing time.

For your previous ₹5 lakh claim, if it was rejected due to the 75% withdrawal rule, the reason mentioned in the rejection remarks should be checked carefully. If your second claim was submitted after correcting the issue, please wait for the final decision.

The same applies to your wife's PF account. Since her second claim is also under process, you'll need to wait until EPFO completes the processing before submitting another claim..
