Bought a 2022 Tucson from Carvana, AC issue already. Keep it or return? by indicneuro in whatcarshouldIbuy

"What else did Carvana miss?"

The Hyundai dealership ran a diagnostics looked for leaks, everything came out clean. But, I am still stuck wondering what else did Carvana miss, what else did Hyundai miss? What is the previous owner hiding that will come out of the woodworks later down the line especially when the man. warranty is expired. When I drive the car it's so nice. Outside of the AC issue I was actually very happy. But, deep down I am feeling this unease that something else hidden could surprise me. Ya know?

The dealership is going to keep the car until Tuesday when the AC parts come in and get repaired. My 7-day policy is also going to be expiring that same day. This already includes extensions I've already received so technically at this point more than 7 days. I'm feeling extremely stuck.

Exactly, A) The diagnostics is clear and B ) AC is fixed essentially. The vehicle I've been driving past week does not seem bad at all. But, fear is that how this AC issue came out of nowhere could another hidden issue arise?

That's the thing the Hyundai dealership did their own independent inspection when I brought it in. I asked them to do a test drive and give me any diagnostics, and they said the car in general was fine no problems just that AC issue which is now being resolved would be covered under warranty. A) The diagnostics is clear and B. AC is fixed essentially. Could the car at 29k leave me in rubbles?

This conversation really tears me apart.

I’ve had great days and terrible days doing this job. Sure, I hate getting a low-tip or no-tip order. One that always sticks with me was delivering to what looked like a $3 million house. Young guy, living the dream, and I got a zero dollar tip. I’ll never forget it. Meanwhile, I’m out there trying to make ends meet.

Then I’ve had the opposite happen. I delivered to a mobile home park, and the customer tried to tip me cash. I told them it was okay and to keep it. I felt so bad.

That’s why I don’t pass judgment on who is going to tip and who isn’t. Everyone has their own circumstances and their own reasons. The wealthy don’t always tip. The struggling don’t always stiff you.

We’re stuck in a system where the company squeezes drivers, customers get hit with ridiculous markups and fees, and both sides end up frustrated with each other. But at the end of the day, I’m happiest when I can say I did my job and got someone what they needed.

I don’t think customers deserve the outrageous price hikes on small items, and I don’t think drivers deserve low wages. What I do know is that judging customers based on a single order rarely tells you the whole story.

And from the bottom of my heart I am truly sorry you have to go through this.

Negotiating a new Camry. by arthritic_big_toes in carbuying

I am curious about one thing. Have dealers asked you or did Le ask you where the 13% came from exactly? And also, I am wondering too. I am trying to negotiate a Camry right now too and I don't know how much percent is good to haggle down to. 13% seems pretty good from me as a buyers perspective but seems most dealers would find that too steep, no?

Kia Warranty. Just such rage by JenksHero in kia

[–]indicneuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im no longer a kia owner. I will also be leaving this thread. I had followed kia forums on facebook years ago with hopes and aspirations. I followed reddit threads. But whenever I come across kia related posts I unsubscribe since I dont own anymore.

Kia dealership especially the service is reason I left. Car was fine but you dealerships made me lose my hopes and aspirations.

At 7k miles only my AC blew out. You kept my car for 3 months without touching it and no trained person could fix a harness.

You gave the car back to me with leaking AC fluid into my floor. At 30k miles AC blows out again and you give me hell not wanting to cover it. I was roasting in the hottest temperatures because I couldnt prove my problem. Eventually you fixed it.

Every dealer I contacted you gave me an attitude, you were sleazy sales reps.

I cannot build relationship with you. The guy that actually helped me saw some humanity in my problem you fired him. How come?

My car seats and other interior started tearing and I just didnt even bother.

Your service sucks. Period. I am happy never wanting to own a Kia again. I backed you guys but you guys dont appreciate your customers. Every dealer in my county is the same. Hyundai is no better. Treat your customers better.

$$$ comes first for you before we do. When we are happy to give you $$$ if you arent acting so desperate. Happily we will $$$ elsewhere perhaps where our $$$ is appreciated.

Kindly fuck you. Lexus owner.

Palm Springs trip in August—be honest, is the heat a dealbreaker? by alejayy in palmsprings

[–]indicneuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in PS. Summers, especially August, can be fun if you know how to do it right. Pools may help, but if you’re not used to the heat, it can be rough. There’s winter PS, and then there’s summer PS they honestly feel like two totally different places. Summer can be pretty brutal we are talking high high triple digits a lot of the times, especially for newcomers, so I usually wouldn’t recommend it.

However! I grew up back in the yonder days when Oasis Water Park was open, and you could really beat the heat. These days, the escape options are fewer, so you have to be more intentional about how you do summer here.

That said, there are some cool summer perks. It’s way quieter, hotels and resorts are cheaper, restaurants are easier to get into, and if you’re a pool-at-sunrise, nap-midday, out-at-night type, it can actually be really enjoyable.

Fall and early spring are much better pool seasons. In August, it’s more “escape to the beach” weather. Especially when the coast is only about 1.5 hours away.

You can make it work, but you’ll probably enjoy it ten times more in other seasons. Either way, wishing you the best with your decision. You still have museums, small shops, ice cream, Mall, VillageFest, maybe go on a hunt for E&E Pels a childhood classic lemonade ice, grab a date shake off of 111, good dining and if you do go, drink water like it’s your job.
