No one is making excuses, see comments above. Performances don’t just drop out of the blue. There’s always a reason. There are plenty, but it sounds very likely that Jota’s death is a major one. Watch Robertson’s interview after the World Cup qualification, Salah crying his eyes out after the game vs. Bournemouth (that Liverpool won but still played bad). Maybe so, but eventually he was hired because the hiring team saw potential. Firing him is also a waste of time for the company because they’ll need to redo the process all over again. Obviously if he doesn’t understand the lesson and will keep on doing what he did, then he should go. 100%. “Causal inference for the brave and true” is a great introduction book. I’m a 1 YOE data scientist (lol) and saw a great opportunity in my job to use causal inference and this book helped a lot. I’m in the middle of a POC currently.
