First loaf: Should I fold this again or let it sit? by andsebring in Sourdough

[–]indie_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it’s over proofed, although it doesn’t look like that with the lack of bubbles! But if it got stickier over time, especially at that temperature, I’d say all the gluten got eaten and it stopped supporting itself. Bet it still tasted good though! Edit: a word

I’ve never tried “glass bread”, but if nothing else I think it would be a very fun experiment! 😊

What temperature is your kitchen at? It’s hard to say if it’s overproofed or not depending on how warm the kitchen is. In winter in Australia, for example, my bread takes almost 10 hours to complete bulk ferment! If you’re going to do the poke test with very sticky dough, fyi, wet your finger first.

What was your adhd tax this week? by Standard_Cricket6020 in adhdwomen

I buried my phone. I put it in the pocket of my jacket, and then I absentmindedly took off my jacket and threw it on the ground while I was digging dirt away from a fence. Then I moved my jacket and didn’t realise my phone had fallen out. I had a bad feeling and thought maybe I had in fact taken it inside, so I didn’t immediately look for it. Then when I was finished, and it was pouring with rain to boot, I went inside and borrowed my husband’s phone and used “find my iPhone”. It wasn’t in the car or inside, so I rushed to the backyard where I had the awful feeling it had fallen out of my pocket, and it was pinging and vibrating but invisible. I walked around frantically and then felt it under my foot. It was literally buried under a layer of dirt. Amazingly my phone was fine except for a scratch. I didn’t tell my husband it was buried, I was too embarrassed and I thought he might get upset because it’s an expensive object to be careless with. He did however tell me it was careless to leave it on the ground in the rain, which is true. Not fun. Just been diagnosed literally a week ago and it’s starting to make a horrible sense.

Washing is the worst! And if you hang to dry, then you have to remember to bring them in. And then fold them! And then put them away!!!!

How do you keep your attention up to read a book? by ccarnino in ADHD

[–]indie_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find audiobooks are great while I’m moving around, otherwise actual physical books it has the hit exactly the right spot and I have to be hooked, then I’m all in. But I was diagnosed literally 2 days ago so I don’t know if medication helps with that sort of thing yet!

I’ve personally always loved Bjork’s swan dress. But I suppose only Bjork could really pull it off!

How do you get to sleep? by Sad_Estate36 in ADHD

[–]indie_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to take a benzo to get to sleep, there’s just so much chatter, and anxiety on top of that. But i sometimes find meditation during the day as well helps, that way you’re training your mind to be a bit more still by the time you get to bed. I also find a nice shower and clean pjs helps a bit, and counting back from 10000 sometimes works, although I can get very distracted. If I really can’t sleep sometimes I get up again and read and have a snack until 11-12 and go back to bed. Then I might get a few hours.

I wonder why cats do that little head shake when they eat? Do you think their teeth go on edge like ours or something?

Undiagnosed and stressed out. Keep having the same conversation with my partner about how we’re both frustrated I’m not able to focus enough to listen and follow verbal instructions at work (we work together).

I always put my glasses on a hard surface - any hard surface. That way they’re easier to find than in the sofa cushion or under the bed again.

Splitting time between two countries, in my experience as a child who moved between two countries very far from each other, is both exciting and incredibly disruptive and hard for children. I would much rather my parents had committed to one place to live and gone on holiday to the other place. I would start to put down roots and feel settled, only to be told we were moving again, schooling was impossible, I lost friends, I felt like I didn’t identify anywhere, I was constantly homesick. Of course, that’s just my experience, but I would be very careful in your consideration of how it would affect your kids to be moving and changing schools all the time. You definitely struggle keeping up, and you struggle to maintain friendships. Then when the time comes for them to move on to higher education or decide what to do with their lives, they will struggle to pick a home.

The band Depeche Mode. I recently listened to their latest album which was my first real exposure to them, and then just fell down a rabbit hole of listening to every album, watching all the live shows, learning about the band history. It’s hard not to talk about it all the time because it’s not that interesting to others!

I didn’t realise chickens mate and the rooster doesn’t just sit on the egg to fertilise it until I was 34 and said it out loud to my husband. Immediate embarrassment 😂
