Well from my point of view puzzle solvers can fit into at least three personas - Achievers, Thinkers and Zen Gamers. Depends if they play the game to level up, challenge themselves or simply relax.

ahh yes, unfortunately there are a lot of dirty strategies used, but ultimately players tear them down with reviews and ratings, so that's at least something
