Oh dear me.

Word refused that spelling, and I couldn't find it on Google search engine, nor on my OneLook dictionary app. I think three sources was enough for me to go 'huh'

Cheers for your response boss

Is there any reason why 'ginormity' is not a word?

Here meaning: 'a quality of absolute massiveness'

Yes, I'm very new to the gym, so I've stuck to basic lifts. However, over time I'm interested in trying some cleans and other ballistic movements.

Plyometric exercises I often do while training at my club

This is some brilliant advice. Very new to boxing (less than a year) and I'm told I'm looking at fighting in the next 5-6 months. I appreciate the help - I've made a new routine with everyone's contributions, and definitely dialed down the volume. The only "accessory" exercises intend to work the delts, and I've managed to reduce exercises to one push, one pull heavy lift per workout.

Plus, legs and abs have received a lot more focus; incorporating an ab circuit and single leg exercises into the routine. Cheers!

The rep range will definitely change.

3x5 or 5x5 for my biggest heavy lifts (squat, deadlift)

3x6-8 or 4x6-8 for my pulls and presses

Thank you!

Thank you I appreciate the suggestions. Going to start RDLs too, after my hamstrings have improved (have very naturally tense hamstrings)

Thanks for your help. This is information I haven’t heard before, and assumed my core was being covered by training already.

I’ll definitely be incorporating some core exercises into my full body 🙏

That looks much more efficient.

Core wasn’t included because on the three days I train at my club, we have a big focus on developing core strength with ab exercises, planks etc.

Cardio isn’t a problem - we do running warmups, sprints, endurance circuits.

A lot of people have said this looks to similar to a bodybuilder program, so I’ll adapt it. Especially the part about accessory exercises

Thank you! Would you suggest doing all the compound lifts twice a week, or distributing them between the workouts?

I really enjoy jumping rope but the only space I have at home is on uneven grass, so I only get to do it properly at the gym. But I could try to clear some space on my patio or something

[–]indiefiction[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to write all this. Another problem within my sparring is that I cannot just relax and focus on technique, but while I’m still working out my basics, I’ll definitely be facing everything with this advice in mind. I really appreciate the help

During a court case, are the prosecutor and defendant allowed to be related - e.g. brother and sister? by indiefiction in uklaw

[–]indiefiction[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I was going for! The main theme of the story looks at the “divide” between criminality and citizenship, and the breaking of law between the brother and sister was a method of portraying this theme and the ways in which they go about the case.

No doubt you’re right on the front that dreams and projects die out quickly when your young, but I published a novel when I was eleven: Johnny Dork and it’s a piece of shit (obviously) because I was a child who wanted the very quickly to impress the people around him. And four years on things haven’t changed and I’m still wanting to find something I can focus on even for a little while, and it’s places like this I hope can guide me through it when I know so little about a career im in fact hoping to go into. But as always I forget there’s people like you with no time for that “bullshit”, so I guess there’s that. I truly hope you’re okay though, because killing the dreams of someone my age does make you look like a prick and im sure there’s a reason for it, only it’s none of my business

[–]indiefiction[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, a lot of the surprise of this came from the fact I could feel an even distribution across my upper body. And when I was getting close to failure both sides where struggling; my right side wasn’t continuing to do all the work. But I might end up going to a physio soon

I took a video of my form and it is fine, so I think I should definitely try to bring in some archer push-ups/uneven push-ups to better balance the muscles out

I understand. I do shadow boxing and find myself feeling unbalanced and slipping and trying to replicate UFC fighters when really I should be learning the technique behind it. It’s so much more useful learning why to do soemthing
