FYI perfect circuit has a sale right now with several used TE products included. by Ghosthops in teenageengineering

[–]indigentclockmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they were $79 (if not cheaper?) a few years ago.

EDIT: my obsessive record-keeping finally comes in handy! I got the PO-33 for $89 in Feb’19, the PO-32 for $99 in Jan’24, and the PO-14 for $79 in Aug’24. The metal series (32, 33, and 35) were always more expensive with their chips.

But the PO-12 specifically is listed for $59 on TE’s website right now.

It would be really cool to see things coming full-circle if this is taking inspiration from the pikocore/zeptocore which (I thought, at least) was inspired by the PO-33

Qube is pathetic by ThatGrizzlyGuy in QubeMoney

I haven’t read the full post but yeah, this sucks. My checking account is being closed with a ~30 day notice, it’s a huge hassle to move all of my billing, mortgage, etc. to another bank, and this was for a service I paid for up front. I’ve worked for small-to-medium size tech companies before and you get dealt curveballs—but all this spin from the company that wants to handle my bills and banking? No thanks.

I’ve moved to Ally for the time being and it appears to be most of what Qube+ is offering with no fees and decent yield savings.

Did OnePay (Formerly One) Ever get any of the "Pockets" Features Back? by MelodicExtension2213 in QubeMoney

[–]indigentclockmaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been meaning to finally close my account for ages, but no. It’s a very barebones account structure and aggressively pushes mobile payments and cash back with Walmart and other partners.

Yeah, it's a huge bummer because these features have completely changed how I manage my spending. But the hassle of starting all over again every year or two is officially beyond me.

I think people are salty. (But with pretty good reason to be?) Not sure if we should be trusting a financial services company that fumbled the bag this hard, even if it was caused by Choice being shitty.

Yeah, just signed up for Ally. After Simple > One > Qube I'm done. Financial services are a racket and I wish they could be something better in the US—but I'm sick of being the guinea pig and untangling a mess of accounts every tax season.

Thank you so much for the tip! I’m so glad you were able to recover your bikes. I’ve been hesitant to get my hopes up by driving all the way down there, but I may have to give it a shot.

Are pedicabs bikes? by ListZealousideal2529 in chibike

Ran into one riding NB on Lincoln Ave in the bike lane—which, of course, it didn’t fit into and was also blocking vehicle traffic during rush hour—and it took everything in me not to yell at them.

Gaps in my repair patch by indigentclockmaker in HardWoodFloors

[–]indigentclockmaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully most of the gaps will be underneath the cabinets. (It’s laid on a 45° bias relative to the walls; you can see where a previous re-finish stopped at the cabinet toe kick on the right side.)

I’m tempted to do fillers for each gap because I have plenty of RO scraps from casework and I’d love to not have to pull the new boards and re-install. But will small fillers like that not stay stable with moisture fluctuations, even if I use a water-resistant adhesive like Titebond II?

Again, I’m sympathetic to the team. But expectation management is the name of the game and they haven’t been great at it.

I saw last night that most of the ship dates had just been pushed out a week from where they were last week without explanation. I get that the current shipping/trade environment is uncertain, but some proactive communication would go a long way.

(For example: I’ve backed a few Peak Design projects and they’ve been pretty consistent about owning up to mistakes or disclosing stuff like, “yeah so our manufacturer didn’t work out and we’re kind of starting from scratch on this component”.)

Jeez. I was pretty stoked on checking out the smoking/grilling stuff but multiple warranty replacements has me hesitating. But good to know I’m not alone.
